    Scratch Repair Alloy Wheel

Unfortunately, there is no business anywhere near me. Any suggestions on wheel repair kits are appreciated.

    Scratch Repair Alloy Wheel

Here is a photo of the damage. I would prefer to repair this before I replace the wheel. Like I said, lots of kits available, but don't know which are worthwhile.

    Scratch Repair Alloy Wheel

Unfortunately, the scratch is deep, through the finish to the metal. There is no way it could be polished out. I am not happy, because the rims were mint until this point. I believe the wheels are clear coated. I will have to clean the wheel a bit before I snap a picture, but will try to get...

    Scratch Repair Alloy Wheel

I noticed one of the alloy wheel's on my wife's Rav4 has a deep scratch in it, on an otherwise perfect wheel. What is the best way to repair this? I see several kits are available, but not sure which are worthwhile. Any recommendations on the best DIY repair?

Winter Tires for Severe Winter - Michelin X-Ice not Cutting it

Where do you live? If I lived in a place with less sever winters, like says the GTA on Ontario, these tires probably would have been fine. They are fine in mild winter conditions. But in severe conditions I face, they are noticeably got worse on the 3rd winter.

    Got my QuickJacks.

What model do you have? It seems to lift your Sequoia quite high.

    Rental Review: Toyota Sienna LE

We have almost the exact same van in our work fleet. I recently spent two weeks with the van and drove it over long distances during that time. I agree with most of what this review said, especially the excellent MPGs and the annoying engine drone. It typical of a Toyota hybrid, but amplified in...

2016 Camry Hybrid 12 volt battery

Thank you, very helpful post. Unfortunately most of the batteries listed are not available in my area. For some reason, Wal-Mart doesn't carry the AGMs in Canada. The interstate dealer want's $350 for their battery and it only has a 3 year warranty. I found a Costco that says they just got a...

2016 Camry Hybrid 12 volt battery

My father's 2016 Camry is still on its original Panasonic 12 volt. It is a JIS D26 AGM battery. The dealer is backorder and very expensive, over $450. From reading, others have used a 24F AGM in place of the OEM style battery. This works as long as there is a vent port for the battery. I...

    Dexron III for Cold Weather

It might in very cold weather. In a previous vehicle Mobil 1 ATF was notably better than the OEM fluid in the extreme cold.

    Dexron III for Cold Weather

Maxlife has a higher Brookfield visosity at -40 than Mobil and Amsoil which are both about 10,000 while MaxLife is 11,000. Plus it is singifcantly thinner at 100 degress, being only 5.9 cSt. So I see no advantage to the LV. Furthermore, the Redline D4 has a Brookfield rating of 5200, which is...

    Dexron III for Cold Weather

It's not exotic PS system, but an LV might be too thin in hot weather. And most don't offer any performance in the cold that is as good as the Redline D4. I am in northern Ontario. What is the stuff you run? You didn't mention the product.

    Dexron III for Cold Weather

Thanks for all the replies. HPL's stuff looks decent but is cost prohibitive to those of us in Canada. I wish there were Canadian dealers. My PS system requires DexI II/III so not sure I should try a LV ATF. I am thinking I might go with Redline, their D4 has significantly better cold...

    Dexron III for Cold Weather

I am looking for a synthetic Dexron II/III ATF with the best cold weather properties for a PS system. Amsoil and Mobil 1 both have a Brookfield viscosity at -40 of around 10000 cP. Are there any better options available or is this as good as it gets?

    New Bridgestone Blizzak Ice Peak

These seem to be going to a similar tread design as the Michelins. I am confident they will do better in testing and in the real world in many locations. However, with how varied road conditions and weather conditions are, I am not sure they will work better for my location. I have run probably...

Winter Tires for Severe Winter - Michelin X-Ice not Cutting it

Yes, they are on sale here too, at least at Canadian Tire. I price matched them at Kal tire, so it was a good deal. I have read many of your posts and respect your opinion. That said, I owned DM V2s before and they were better than the Michelins when new and held up better for wear on my...

Winter Tires for Severe Winter - Michelin X-Ice not Cutting it

I am aware the DM-V2s are an old design. This was one of my original concerns. However, my real world experience is that on my truck, in my environment they were better than the Michelin X-Ice Suv tires I have now. The Continentals and Nokians were a close second and third choice to the DM-V2s...

Winter Tires for Severe Winter - Michelin X-Ice not Cutting it

I decided to go back to the Blizzak DM-V2s, as they seem to be the best tire in the 255/70R-18 size. I think the smaller size will be better and I found them at a great price. They did well well the last time I ran them, better than my Michelins. Checking my spreadsheet, I actually got 5 decent...
