    Pennzoil PZL Turbo

It’s before SL…almost worth buying as a collector item, it’s over 30 years old!

    Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 | 5,000 miles | 2022 Kia Soul with 25,000 miles

I had a 2010 Soul for a few years. They rev hard on the highway and drone bc they are a large box. The main reason I kept my old G5 for my all-highway commute and sold the Soul, much quieter. UOA looks okay, but SI and FE seem a bit high - maybe check air filter for leaks or needing replacement?

    Which off these Lexus

I think the RX350 is a much more ‘proven’ vehicle, with few problems.

    1972 Honda Civic

Step mom had a brown ‘78 CVCC 5-speed. I thought it was a really neat car; but rust had eaten through the bottom of it; there was barely any floor left!

    Buick 401 Nailhead Oil

Beautiful car, just beautiful. I wouldn’t want to take any risks myself…VR1 20W-50…thick and loaded with goodies. Cushion the heck out of that old engine!

Eastern Canadian gas jumping up with move to summer gas

Just saw a news article that gas in southern Ontario will be jumping up 14 cents a litre overnight to a price of about $1.79/litre tommorow. Says the cause is the switch over to summer gas; but I don’t remember it jumping up THIS much from that? Anyway, the summer driving season begins, lol!!

What is the single best vehicle to buy if you're a tightwad?

Pontiac G5/Chev Cobalt. Parts are common and very cheap, as is the car. Just watch for rocker/sill/floor rust.

    HPL fleet usage plan.

Forget 12k; go 18-20k and save even more downtime. Plenty of testing here shows HPL is more than capable.

Analysis: PEA in different cleaners (Techron, Archoil, Oilsyn, Pro-Tec)

If you are in Canada and can’t get Techron, go to a Hyundai/Kia dealership and buy their fuel system cleaner - even has the same bottle as Techron.

    Redline Oil Updated Data Sheets

Not at all surprising…a big corp cheapens the input cost/ingredients used in a product, and a person who ‘really cares’ about the quality of the product ‘no longer aligns with the companies direction’.

Reviving a 71 C10! Curious about suitable oils.

Any HDEO 10W-30 will work well in that rig. Cool DD - please keep us updated on how it works out! A member a while ago did the same thing with a low-mileage 1978 Ford Granada 250 I-6. Search the word Granada and you will find UOA’s and a thread on the adventure.

About to run Euro 0w40 on Buick 455

Pics of the beast? Were it me, I’d run the Delvac 1 straight up. You don’t ‘need’ the 0W abilities of the M1, and I’d want something a bit thicker that won’t shear as much in a big engine like that.

Amsoil 5-30W Signature Series Vs Mobil 1 0-30W AFE

Amsoil SS has a lot more moly in it; could be the reason.

    2013 Subaru 2.5L oil burn

Agree with trying the Valvoline Restore and Protect. Find a pail of cheap 15W-40 on sale and have to do top-offs between oil changes.

    Favorite budget tire?

Up here, with WM out of the tire business, Canadian Tire-brand tires, when on sale, are the budget tire of choice for most people. I sell truckloads of ‘Certified All Trek’ tires at our store. Look at cars in Canada; and a LOT of them will have CT tires on them.

    Idemitsu 5w30 SP/GF-6 VOA

It’s just barely a 30-weight oil. Beyond that, it looks fairly average for a modern 5W-30 oil.
