Does anyone else lament the demise of the V8?

I definitely wish Toyota would have offered the 5.7 in the 2022 tundras and sequoia, but things change. I love my 5.7 v8. Only thing I would trade it for is one of those Toyota twin turbo diesel swaps that a certain shop does (can't remember their name) but that's $30k +. Needless to say I'm...

Who's running High Performance Lubricants (HPL) products in their engine?

Glad to see another tundra owner using HPL. What year model is your truck? If it's a 14-21, then Dave can make you some 75w for the transfer case. Once I do a full fluid exchange on the transmission my tundra will have HPL front to back. Should have that done in a couple weeks.

4runner transfer case. A topic beaten to death. I just need to know one thing

I got HPL to make me some 75w for my tundra. You could reach out to Dave and he can hook you up.

Oil changed, tires rotated, and got the inside of the truck nice and clean. I gotta find a decent auto wash on the road tomorrow.

    Whatever happened to..... (Grease remover)

The absolute best hand cleaner I've ever used is called Dab A Do hand cleaner, I've never had anything come close to its performance, and I've used tons of brands at the various industrial jobs I've worked. It mostly only available in the south since they're out of louisiana, not sure about...

    Tried new penetrating fluids

I still have a few cans of kroil from a job I was on in 2015. Not sure if the new stuff is any worse or not. The other penetrants I have are Schaeffers Penetro 90, works great Castle Thrust, also works great Mouse milk, haven't used it enough to give an answer And I guess I'm the oddball...

    ST Advanced 20K Mile 0W-20 - 5000 miles - 2020 Toyota Tundra

I run 10k OCIs in my tundra, it does great. Currently have 12k? On the HPL I put in. Not sure when I'm gonna change it. Edit: just noticed your username, I knew it looked familiar!

    New ratchet?

You might be onto something here... train ravens to pick up shiny tools in exchange for food. Imagine the collection of 10mm sockets you could have!

    New ratchet?

Im probably gonna pick up some of their stuff in the future. I'd like to get a couple ratchets and sockets, and their wooden handle screwdrivers. Thank God they don't have a tool truck. I would never finance snap on or any other brand, but if Nepros had a tool truck I probably wouldn't be able...

Who's running High Performance Lubricants (HPL) products in their engine?

2014 tundra. 244k miles. HPL 5w30 HDEO Tons of heavy towing and offroading. Currently have 12k on the oil. Changed filter at 8k and topped off. Was burning a bit of oil due to a clogged pcv valve. Changed it out and not a drop used since. Filter had no carbonaceous build up or gunk like others...

Hopefully I put the fear into the dweeb.

Being in the trades makes one stronger than people realize. Working out in a gym is very repetitive. Good, clean motions, being careful not to get injured. Working on heavy equipment, machinery, in refineries, holding something just right and being in a bind for your buddy while he bolts/welds...

    New ratchet?

If you've got money to burn, go with Nepros. Made in Japan, and higher quality than Snap On. Their tools are a work of art.

    My catalytic converter was stolen

Tundras get bad mileage no matter what. When I got the truck I was getting around 13mpg. Now with all my skid plates, bumper, winch, 35" tires, lift, I'm at around 11-12mpg with a heavy foot. Gonna re gear soon so that'll help bump it back up.

Sealant for Oil Pan RTV or Anerobic

Motorcraft TA-31 is the best stuff I've come across. Used for sealing up the 7.3 powerstroke oil pan and other items.

    My catalytic converter was stolen

If you're handy, you can build your own for wayyy cheaper. On my tundra I built a plate that protects all 4 cats. 3/16 steel (I go offroading alot) only used an angle grinder, welder, and drill. Bought a sheet of 4x8 plate for around 300 bucks. Maybe another 50 in cutting wheels and paint (had a...

    Cen-Pe-Co 0W-20 & 5W-30 Full Synthetic Oil

Alot of threads on here about CenPeCo oil. Lots of people believe it's a great oil, and right in line, or just behind, Schaeffers. I've never run it personally, but have seen a few UOAs and it seems like good stuff. Just not enough moly for me for personal reasons. Apparently they've been around...

Best solvent for soaking caked on grease

Isn't that the main ingredient in citrus cleaners? I've always had good luck with citrus based degreasers. Citrol comes to mind. I've never used it for soaking parts though. Never thought to use it that way honestly.
