Mityvac to suck out the last quart of oil

I don't care either way, but to the OP's point, there is dirty oil left in his engine. And besides being vehicle filter size/orientation dependent, watching a customer shop of mine who crushes all their filters, there is a lot more oil than 4-5 tbsp in even the smaller filters when the media is...

    Delvac Rebate - Spring 2025

After denials, computer glitches, and more denials, I just got squared up on my Delvac rebate from 2024. I'm not sure I'm up for that again. It's a great rebate amount, I just hated having to chase it for months.

Mityvac to suck out the last quart of oil

Every Bitog'er that changes their oil filter every other change does this. Not saying right or wrong, just saying.

    Washington DC (DCA) accident

It's been a while since I flew in/out of DCA, but I would swear I always landed from the north on Runway 22. I might be mistaken.

    K2xx alternator upgrade on GMT800

I faced the same thing on my 2002 GMC. I ended up getting a new 145 amp Bosch and did the big 3 grounds. It's been in without an issue for a couple of years now. BTW, Amazon warehouse has great deals on brand new alternators. I picked up the same unit recently for $65 as a spare to throw in my...

the OFFICIAL "Advance Auto Parts (AAP) closing" thread ... put ALL deals, rebates, etc here ... (forum rules still apply)

I made one last trip to my local store today. Everything, except store fixtures and any remaining batteries, was 50 cents. I had a list and got everything they had left on my list, then hit the Dorman help stuff and things like that. Not much left. I think I spent $40 total. A guy came in as I...

Run that engine before moving the car

I'm too old to worry about the engine, if there isn't heat in the car, chances are I'm not going anywhere. 20 minutes warm up isn't uncommon on anything I own. My almost neighbor Edyvw in 5...4....3....2... ;)

Great deal on Glock mags and Federal HST ammo

I've been dealing with Mark at Recoil for a long while now. He is a great guy with solid ethics. One of my absolute favorite firearm vendors along with Sam at SG Ammo.

I've not picked up a few things that still have a core charge, and yes, they are still collecting it.

Check out this AAA scamming attempt

Brother, I managed a tow company in the 80's, we were a AAA approved tow. They had many standards back then, if you violated them they'd yank you from the system in a heartbeat. I'm guessing that has changed.

Check out this AAA scamming attempt

I've been an AAA member since 1993. It used to be a great service that I bought memberships for my whole family. I told my family to trust and do what the driver said needed to be done, that's how good it used to be. I'm truly thinking of going another route now. The battery scam is the worst...

Advance Auto Parts to close 700+ stores.

Interesting, all my vehicle parts are still listed and showing in or out of stock. I even got parts for my 78 K20 plow truck.

Advance Auto Parts to close 700+ stores.

If you do your homework with looking up your own part numbers, instead of asking the counter guy who frankly doesn't give a hoot anymore, I've been cleaning up on parts for all my cars. 95% off on everything behind the counter has been amazing.

This sounds like a kinda sorta certified pre-owned side of the story.

Vail Mayor proposes $20,000 fines for trucks without chains.

The issue in California is not checking to see if they go on, it's taking them off. I've been through there 3 times now where I drove miles on wet pavement before you were "allowed" to take them off. When I pressed a CHP officer on it, they said it was for speed control in case it got slick...

Vail Mayor proposes $20,000 fines for trucks without chains.

Consider the source, anyone from Vail. When a walk up lift ticket can be $313, what's $20k?

Vail Mayor proposes $20,000 fines for trucks without chains.

I have mixed feelings about this. You can have California chain controls with everyone driving on wet pavement for miles tearing up the roads because some state trooper decides it, or you could just stop all truck traffic when it snows (sending them to I-80 or I-40 instead). But the Colorado ski...
