To be honest, mostly for price. Every 5,000 miles happens quickly for me at 600 miles a week and the difference between the two is significant with filter. Plus, the Valvoline is a bit thicker, has more moly, and has a nice HTHS of 3.2, which I believe is the only non Euro oil with the sunburst...

How would we know that? Go look at some of the UOAs posted here for it. In addition, Valvoline's website states that their EP oil provides ultimate protection against heat---whatever that means. You will then know as much as we do about it. It's a good oil. I have used it in my 5.0 and I will...

I bought some Valvoline Extended Protection yesterday at Walmart. The Restore & Protect was right next to it for a $1.00 more. I just don't get the pricing structure here...doesn't make any sense.

Are you referring to the Valvoline EP 5w30? If so, it doesn't have 175ppm Moly it has 315ppm.

I wonder if the regular Extended Protection 5w30 is GTL now as well?

I have edited the original post. I meant to include in my question ones that met what I asked and also had a high HTHS.

What are some good 5w30 oils that AREN'T European formula AND have the API Starburst as well as GF-6 that have high HTHS?

Man, those old thick cloth seats are missed. So comfortable compared to todays cloth seats.

Question. If you had a small account--$50 deposited every two weeks...what would you put it in? All short-term bonds? Money market? Stocks? This is just a little secondary account in Tiaa-Cref.
