    Champ / Luber-Finer PH2867XL - wouldn't spin on

Aww man. The 6 pack I bought in April 2023 from RA says HF4477 on them....

Anyone here who can read Japanese?

I went to a Japanese language school on Saturdays for 6 years as a kid and it never sunk in Google translate:

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W30, 5074 miles, 2016 Honda HR-V

You're right, it's the same engine from 2016-2022. Not sure why the #'s are much better. Only way to confirm is to do what twX's suggested for an entire OCI.

HR-V in limp mode after car wash - followed by weird noises underneath gear shifter

There was enough mud that one of the wheel well covers was coming off.. It was a touchless automatic car wash but not like one I've ever been to before. The pressure was very high and I drove extra slow at the beginning when it does the undercarriage / wheel wash so you might be right.

HR-V in limp mode after car wash - followed by weird noises underneath gear shifter

I spent the last few days at a cabin which required a little bit of off road. The wheels had mud which threw off the balance so I went for a car wash yesterday evening. 10 minutes after the wash, the parking brake warning lights turned on. It went into some kind of limp mode because the car...

    Aging Spare Tire

For Americans (and those Canadians close to border towns), this is a great website for used: lkqonline.com I see some with 40k miles if I got OP's model right https://lkqonline.com/2008-chevrolet-suburban-1500-series-spare-wheel-carrier/-hNKnnjncKKO/-i~353467513

    Aging Spare Tire

I changed the HR-V's as it was used too many times / too many miles. Ended up going for maxxis instead of OE because it was cheaper than the dealer https://shop.maxxis.com/products/compact-spare-tire

    Bio Source Windshield Washer Fluid

Smells kind of sweet. The ethanol firestarters I use have that sulphur smell. They had to be vacuumed sealed because it was so bad.

    Bio Source Windshield Washer Fluid

I've been trying it out for the last few months as it sounds better than breathing in methanol. The only crappy thing about it is the heater has to be on or else it leaves a film on the windshield. Guessing the ethanol content is too low. It also sucks at washing off bugs/dirt/salt.

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W30, 5074 miles, 2016 Honda HR-V

Port injected. Not sure how much truth there is but I've read this engine gets higher horsepower on a dyno when premium is used. There are lots of testimonials online saying the engine is smoother. I felt the same way after a few tanks so the additional cost is negligible compared to a more...

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W30, 5074 miles, 2016 Honda HR-V

I think so but it'll be at the end of an OCI as I'm kind of worried about seal compatibility - especially at the higher concentrations. Chevron referred to these numbers as "excellent" compared to competitor products but to transfer the statement to an automobile is at my own risk.

2016 Honda HR-V, 6205 miles, Red Line CVT (drain and fill x2)

In your opinion, would it have continued to be fine or are 6k OCI's appropriate? Virgin TAN for Honda's HCF-2 is 0.25-0.4 depending on the formulation date For Red Line, I could only find the TBN which is 3. I've read comments on the forum saying the oil should be changed when TAN is x4...

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W30, 5074 miles, 2016 Honda HR-V

I've been told in the past the same thing you expected so it's nice to see more confirmation of the opposite. @CivicFK2TypeR What type of fuel do you use in your 2008 civic? I see in past UOA's you posted, the fuel dilution #'s look quite good. 0.8% after 12592 miles 1.8% after 5963 miles...

    Mobil 1 AFE 0W30, 5074 miles, 2016 Honda HR-V

A Honda owner buying premium when the car only requires 87 is an outlier in this economy. himemsys inspired this testing as I see he posted about it in April '23 and my first sample with 91 was May '23.

Chevron's Vartech was added at a 5% concentration and was in use for the entire OCI (not vetted for automotive use). Haven't gotten around to taking apart the oil filter yet but will try to get it done next week. Found it interesting how the fuel dilution has greatly improved since switching...

2016 Honda HR-V, 6205 miles, Red Line CVT (drain and fill x2)

Dealer said the belt was in pieces when they checked the magnet. All I did was back it out of the driveway, it got stuck in some semi deep snow and died. No noise of any kind that would indicate a problem and no lights on the dash. The engine would just rev if put into gear. Honda took care of...

2016 Honda HR-V, 6205 miles, Red Line CVT (drain and fill x2)

Total# of miles on this UOA: 6205 Total # of miles on the replacement CVT: 29406 Surprised to see the acidity number is even worse than the last UOA in December '23. Only thing I can think of is the CVT doesn't like the larger sized tires that were installed (225/65/17 from 215/55/17)...
