    Winchester small rifle primers $263/5000

Hi. Brownells UK are the same, they order from the base in US, still only takes a couple of weeks though. A good place for ordering difficult to find bullets, your Speer may be worth a try. Surprised to read you have powder issues with Norma and Bofors being Swedish.

    Winchester small rifle primers $263/5000

Hi. Same in UK. American primers are nearly impossible to find. I can source Magtech and RWS. Fortunately, i have a reasonable stock of Federal and CCI. Have you a Brownells in Sweden?

    RAF to get F-35A.

The F-35A uses the flying boom system for refueling, the UK only has probe and drogue system. I am not sure how this issue will be overcome. Do USN and USAF have a way that allows refueling of the others aircraft?

    RAF to get F-35A.

Hi Astro. Thank you. The British F-35-B are jointly operated by the RAF and RN. They are based at RAF Marham. 617 Squadron - Dambusters - uses them. I once expressed that i was disappointed that the UK had not opted for the catobar for its new carriers. You gave a very inciteful explanation...

    RAF to get F-35A.

Hi. In the next procurement batch of 12 aircraft, the UK is to buy F-35A instead of F-35B. A shame the word "instead" was used, i am not sure if this leaves the UK short of aircraft for the two carriers. A fifth generation aircraft capable of delivering a nuclear weapon was part of the decision...

    Smith & Allan

Hi. I guessing you are a fellow Brit. Smith and Allen are just a blender of lubricants. They will purchase a base oil and then add the necessary additive package for a certain specification, like many lubricant retailers. I would be happy to use their products. There are many on here better...

    Cruze 1.6 oil

Fwiw. I have a Vauxhall ( they were owned by GM ) that calls for Dexos2. It gets MB229.51/52 as that is what i use in my Jeep. The 1.6 Vauxhall is still running like a clock at 140k.

    Military loses FA-18 overboard…

The Royal Navy went to a lot of trouble and expense to ensure the F35 that was lost from HMS Queen Elizabeth was recovered. Very deep water too.

New to me Savage 111 in .270 WIN. Thoughts on ammo and glass

I am a Deer hunter, but i too love a range day. I take my reloading gear with me and enjoy a day spent tinkering with a new load. Yes, i am a rare breed, a Brit that owns Guns :). .270 is a great cartridge, the OP will not be disappointed with it.

    Still making F-18’s

Hi Was a Naval version of the F15 ever considered? It is a very impressive airplane. Arguably better than Super Hornet?

    F14 Flat spin

For anyone interested, Mike 'Nasty' Manazir talks through his experience with a flat spin in an F14. He had to eject. He also talks through it on a Ward Carrol video.

    The Army’s new rifle - the XM7

Hi. Sorry, been away from the forum for a while. The standard operating pressure of this cartridge is higher than a proof load for belted magnum. I just wondered how a sporting rifle will fare with a steady diet of such loads. I estimate that a proof load for the new cartridge will be...

    The Army’s new rifle - the XM7

Hi. Will the 80,000 psi version be compatible with the bolt action sporting rifle that is commonly used by civilians? For example, would a Remington 700 be safe to use at 80,000 psi?

    More V4 vs V6

Hi. I'm in UK and am old enough to remember Transit vans using this V4 engine.

    MG ZS

Hi. Yes, you are indeed correct, the owner can register for the extra warranty when the 3 year one expires. Just needs to be serviced by Dacia which is no big deal. I will definitely take a look at the duster. Will have to be a petrol though as my mrs does mainly stop/start commuting. I...

How do Airliners navigate without GPS?

Hi. This pic reminds me of a WW2 story. The Irish were a neutral country in WW2. They put huge signs on their west coast that were supposedly there to make it clear that this was Eire to any aircraft that was approaching. They also numbered them, eg Eire1 , 2 , 3 etc. This was a crafty way to...

    MG ZS

Hi Bailes. Thanks for the reply. Good to read that the auto box is a proper Aisin unit. Not sure where i got the idea it was a DCT. I think Toyota use Aisin so they must be ok. The turbo engine seems to produce better low end torque so performs better. I wish they offered the 1.5 turbo in the...
