I’m late to this thread, but consider this another vote for a Berryman’s piston soak. I’ve had three of these engines, all oil burners, and all were stopped by a piston soak. One burned a quart in less than 300 miles, and a multi day soak cured it completely.

Or you can just buy a kit. That way you have someone else to blame instead of your own welding skills...

I did a little calculation today. At my current rate of usage I have enough oil for seven years worth of oil changes for my passenger cars. I’m a little light on 15w-40 for my tractor so I’m going to pick up a couple of the $24 boxes of Delo from Auto Zone.

I had to pass by a different store while traveling yesterday so on a whim I placed another order for four quarts there and picked them up at the sale price.

I ordered four for pickup and received a text this morning saying only three were in stock and asking if they could substitute the exact same product at $19 for the fourth jug.

I’ll buy someone food but I won’t give anyone cash. The good news is that saying “I don’t carry cash, I pay for everything with my phone” is a plausible excuse these days. If they pull out their own phone and tell you they accept PayPal then you know what’s up LOL.
