Consumer Reports Ranking on 10 year maintenance costs...

I think there are plenty of parts in my Lexus RX 350 that are more expensive to replace than those corresponding parts found in a Corolla base model. I do believe the labor rate is also higher at the Lexus the dealership. I will say my Lexus has been my most expensive car to maintain during the...

    Quirky features on your cars?

My Tundra steering wheel controls have you press up and down to change tracks but push left and right to increase and decrease the volume. In my mind volume goes up and down and tracks for forward and backward. Volume in wife's RX 350 is up and down so Toyota got it right there.

What Factors Are Swaying EV Adoption in the U.S.?

I'm neither for nor against EVs. I know government mandates are coming but I think as we get closer those will get pushed back. I'm not a fan of the existing EVs or EV companies. If at some time it makes sense and I like the vehicle then I'll consider getting an EV. Right now I like my current...

Sleep schedule differences between you and significant other.

My wife is in bed before me around 8:30ish and sleeps later than me until 6am. I'm in bed anywhere from 9-11PM and usually up during the week at 4:15 or 4:30am and on weekends 5 or 5:30am. The past 10 years I have no problems falling asleep but maintaining sleep after 4am is the issue.

Plumbing house repipe, copper or PEX?

I should add in my above post that the plumber doesn't want to replace the Pex piping, just the older fittings that are corroding.

Plumbing house repipe, copper or PEX?

My only experience with pex is with my MIL's house that was renovated about 20 years ago and all of the new plumbing was pex. Their contractor was known for using the best materials and subs and the quality of all of the work still looks top notch 20 years later, except for the pex. Now I have...

Red Lobster considering Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing losses from “Endless Shrimp”

Well, I looked and there is not a single location in MA, RI, NH, VT, or ME, so I guess that makes sense why I can't remember seeing one recently.

Red Lobster considering Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing losses from “Endless Shrimp”

Red Lobster still exists? I'm sure I've passed one in the recent past but I honestly do not remember the last time it actually registered with me that I passed a Red Lobster - maybe 35 years ago?

    Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 | 5,000 miles | 2022 Kia Soul with 25,000 miles

Ah...that's the problem here and it totally justifies your weird and uncalled for diatribe...you could've just asked? My bad, I'll do better in the hope that too little engine information won't trigger you next time.

    Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 | 5,000 miles | 2022 Kia Soul with 25,000 miles

It's one more data point? It's sparked 19 comments of discussion including someone not knowing Amazon basic made a 0W40? I didn't realize that M1 0W40 has moved away from PAO esters with their new formula? There is some fuel dilution going on as well as lube going out of viscosity? Reassurance...

Picked up a Weishi 1000 Timegrapher

I can see the OCD does not run deep within you my son. Go, live life, happy and free from the confines of obsessive thoughts. It doesn't. It's just as measure of what a manufacturer can achieve and it means having to readjust the time less.

Wha? My math is correct, it was my memory of what year it was made that failed me.

Picked up a Weishi 1000 Timegrapher

I’m a dentist who works under magnification all day long - fine motor skills are not a problem ;) The timegrapher was $130 so I figured why not? It’s reassuring to see my new Tudor seems to be within the claimed METAS cert limits and that the two Rolex aren’t far off being 37 and 33 years old...

Picked up a Weishi 1000 Timegrapher

I don't know anything! ;) However, I'm a bright guy and I tend to obsessively work at new challenges until I do understand them. Thank you for the primer! Are there any books that cover timegrapher theory? Thanks again!
