Red Line D6 and ZF 8 Speed

While I don´t see added capacity being a risk, I also don´t see a huge advantage other than thermal and detergent capacity. These transmissions seem to do just fine with the standard capacity and even some that have been seen that were somehow shipped from the factory not completely filled...

Red Line D6 and ZF 8 Speed

Yep, I think I would be, too. I have a deal offered for Red Line through Amazon through my Credit Card, so I´d get 6 quarts for about $70. That ain´t a Max Life bargain, but not bad for a premium brand like that. That´s what made me consider it. Max Life is $25 a gallon. That´s really a...

Finally changed the ATF on my 2016 Ram 1500 ZF 8 speed

I don´t see anything about compatibility with the ZF 8 speed on the web site. Do you have a link to anything it says about that?

Red Line D6 and ZF 8 Speed

I haven´t found a single Maxlife user with issues and I think it is pretty common on the Ram forums. Not finding as many folks using Red Line, but I´ve used their C+ in my 2018´s manual transmission and it has been great and smoothed out the gear engagement a bit. Others?

Red Line D6 and ZF 8 Speed

Red Line claims compatibility with the ZF 8 Speed. Any thoughts? I know it is apples to oranges, but I have run their C+ fluid in place of ATF+4 in my 2018 Wrangler manual gear box and it smoothed out the shifting a little bit. I have been running it for nearly 80k miles with no issues, so...

2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport (Father/Son Project)

My son and I did a 2004 WJ. It was much fun! It had the 4.7 V8. We bought it for $3500, ran it for a year and a half or so and sold it for $4500 in much better shape than we found it and set up for a long life. I'm following along for the memories! Great project and the XJ is my favorite...

    Oshkosh AirVenture 2025

I watch the YouTube videos every day! I found one today with live arrivals and a map view from a flight tracker. I went about 6 or 7 years ago and am dying to return. I think next year might be the year. My work schedule always interferes. It's a 6 hour drive from me, so I like to camp...

Best Price for ZF Lifeguard 8, 9, or Mopar ATF?

At least for now, I´m going with the deal you shared on the Mopar fluid. But next time around, I may just go with the Maxlife. I´ve not yet found anyone out there on a Jeep forum who has said they had any issues and it appears many people are using it.

Best Price for ZF Lifeguard 8, 9, or Mopar ATF?

My pan is steel. Just double checked it. Max life LS one heck of slot less expensive, for sure.

Best Price for ZF Lifeguard 8, 9, or Mopar ATF?

Anyone have a recommendation for the best price for ZF LG 8, 9, or Mopar 8/9 speed ATF? I´m looking to buy 6 quarts to drain/fill my Gladiator´s transmission as it is approaching 60k miles. Also, any recommendations for best deal on the gasket and filter? Is the original gasket re-usable...

Air India Flight AI171 (Boeing 787-8) Crash

The brake pedal is in close proximity to the gas pedal. These things are not in a place where you are flipping switches to accelerate and climb out.

I think 15w-40 in my jeep was a mistake

Yep, many model years said that. Many also said 5w30 all around. Either way, that motor will run and run and run.

2025 JD Power Initial Quality Study

Which is important, and it makes sense, but it is not as important as longer term. Not surprised on the Gladiator. Mine has been flawless, and my 2018 has been nearly so, except for a few recalls to address problems that never actually showed up on mine. My brother had a 2020 Gladiator for...

    HPL HDEO CK-4 5w-30 6k on oil 2002 Dakota 3.9 v-6

Looks great. But I don´t see anything on there that would make me want to pay the premium over Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum, though. I know I´ll be lashed with a wet noodle and put in the virtual stockade by some of the HPL worshipers around here for saying that. Still, it looks great...

2025 JD Power Initial Quality Study

How does Chevy get that high with the 6.2 issues? I know this is 2025, but I don´t think there was ever a dip for them during those model years. So I once thought JD Power had some accuracy, but the GM 6.2 issue killed their credibility.

    RAF to get F-35A.

I read an article last night that the F-35A´s for the UK would not have the probe. So RAF tankers can´t refuel them. But they said NATO tankers (US) could, in a crisis. At first I thought this was another bad British military decision, but the more I think about it, the more it sounds like...

I think 15w-40 in my jeep was a mistake

I have seen 4.0 Jeeps with over 1/2 million miles on them on synthetic 5w30. Why in the world would anyone deviate from that? It is, after all, the manufacturers recommendation. I´m sure the manual probably said 10w30 was ok in warmer climates, too. Nobody EVER ran a 4.0 at the track, so I´m...

    RAF to get F-35A.

The Brits are really dopey when it comes to defense. Less than minimal. This once great island nation had zero anti-sub/maritime patrol capability until the P-8A came along and they had to rush to buy them. Probably another one of their wonderful defense ¨white papers¨ led to that. I think...

    RAF to get F-35A.

Sometimes there is no difference between the media and some politicians. There was a time when they pretty much opposed any new weapon system, including most of the systems that performed so well in the Gulf War and even way beyond that. The B-1, Apache helicopter, M1 tank, Bradly IFV, and more.

    RAF to get F-35A.

Dare I say it....at the risk of flames....The F-35, and really the F-22, F-15EX, etc has now fulfilled the concept around which the F-4 was envisioned...no guns necessary for air to air because the missiles are now reliable. There is an asterisk, though....The F-4 was more of a down and dirty...
