2020 Honda Pilot - Raybestos Element 3 pads

I was surprised - but they only have 33k on them, and no rust. Only one rear is noisy - so I'm guessing it seized - I'm wondering if I can just lube and go.

2020 Honda Pilot - Raybestos Element 3 pads

I've been using a mix of Raybestos Element 3 pads, and Akebono ACTs for my Hondas. What is the current take on the Element pads available on Rockauto? Should I just go straight Akebono? Thanks - looking at doing a pad slap on original rotors.

Anyone tried Rasperry Pi like SBC powerable by PoE?

I run it on a older Pi, as a VPN endpoint for when I'm out and about. It work really well. No POE though.

    5 Quart Container leak

It's such a small leak, it must be on a seam. I think 2 might be leaking - because it keeps coming back. I finally dropped them in grocery bags and placed them on a tote lid. They also leaked on a cardboard box, that wicked up the oil. It's a mess. At least it's clean oil I guess. I...

    5 Quart Container leak

Odd issue here I have never seen discussed. One of my 5 quart containers randomly sprang a leak. It's a couple years old, not exactly ancient. Anyone ever have a pinhole leak happen randomly?

Painting question - taping crown molding

Update here - it's been a slow motion project. Painting the trim went really well, I didn't need much tape. I ended up adding some caulk, and it looked pretty good. Until I starting painting with a red color below. Short version: I'm really struggling with the line between the wall and...

Painting question - taping crown molding

I'm painting some crown molding a different color, and need to prime it. My plan is to run tape on the ceiling for the primer. For the color coat, I will probably tape both the wall and ceiling. Crown will be white (it's now a puke brown), wall will be a darker color. Question is how do I...

    Removing wallpaper paste

Perfect - thanks again. Owe you one. (Pretty sure Insl-X is available at my local paint / hardware store). I was dreading this a bit - but now it looks manageable.

    Removing wallpaper paste

Thanks - I'll take a look. You are right about the detail, we have the same chair rail upstairs and I can't get paint to stick to it. (The folks we bought the house from left the old cans - only reason I know it is oil based.) The paint guy was showing me a primer for covering oil based...

    Removing wallpaper paste

I'm just bad, and can't cut a line. I've tried free hand, different brushes, and tape. I spent hours taping my son's room, and it came out horrible. He facetimed me the other day, and the crooked line was winking at me over his head. (It somehow looked worse over video than in person).

    Removing wallpaper paste

Wow, great tip. I started with one wall and it worked so well I finished most of the room. $6 bottle of Downy, $3 sprayer and a scraper I had laying around. (Pump sprayer would have worked better). I still have to hit the area around the chair rail and crown molding, but it went a lot...

    Removing wallpaper paste

That's one I hadn't seen...I'll pick some up and try it on a wall, at least it will smell nice.

    Removing wallpaper paste

I can't stand painting - I get it everywhere except the wall.

    Removing wallpaper paste

Finally removed the old wallpaper in our dining room. It came down very easy, with little drywall damage. Now I'm trying to remove the old wallpaper adhesive to prep for paint. I was planning to use dishsoap and a water from a spray bottle, with a plastic drywall scraper. And then a light...

HVAC question - manual fan setting

Thanks all, appreciate it. I'm running the fan at night just to keep the air moving a bit. Also dropping the temp a bit. Seem to make the upstairs feel cooler.

HVAC question - manual fan setting

this is what I have been doing - I'm not sure why I didn't think of it before. how big of a humidifier are you running, and do you need to replace them often? Oh no, not that.

HVAC question - manual fan setting

Does anyone run their HVAC fan all the time, versus using the auto setting? It's been really hot in the east. We had a Carrier dual speed system installed a few years back. Our house is older (70's), with not the best insulation (that is my next improvement.) The temp between the upper and...

What are you working on today?

Thanks - not sure how I missed them at my local store. Maybe I need to visit the optometrist too.

What are you working on today?

Ugh...I have these all over my house. Good call on replacing with commercial. I'm having trouble finding them lately locally. You get them at a supply house?
