In the USA, the 2.5T engine calls for 0W-30 SN+/SP oil. I'm sticking with Castrol Edge 5W-30 oil with an OCI of 4-5K. I am tempted to run Castrol Edge 0W-40 oil in it but for now, I'll stick with the 30 weight oils.

Agreed! I use the Castrol Edge 5W-30 5 quart plastic jug and reuse it for the old oil to recycle at any auto parts store. I normally pay $24 delivered to me by Amazon.

My suggestion would be to NEVER dry sump the ATF by draining all the fluid out and then trying to get "more" out by running the engine, running it through the gears, etc. Just follow the OEM method (Drain and fill) that can be seen in the PDF files of your model year car online.

I run Castrol Edge 0W-40 Euro oil with ~4K OCI due to my modified engine (tuned and lots of power) in my Kia Turbo. My Polaris oil reports look good but my engine puts lots of fuel in the oil (GDI) and is a good reason to change it out before 5K miles.
