I believe in places that get essentially zero snow tire choice matters a lot less. The downsides of a cheap tire are usually road noise and poor durability when driving in warm conditions. Its when it's -20, slushy, or icy that these budget tires really show their shortcomings.

I'm sure they're pretty round and will get you places, but I've found it's worth spending more on tires. I almost always regret the cheapies.

At this point i think wax really exists for pure nostalgia (nothing wrong with that). That being said, Larry Kosilla (Owner of AMMO NYC and a pro detailer) still manufactures a carnauba wax and applies it before every car show for the glow and natural shine.

I don't believe any manufacturer can justify the amount of undercoating needed to survive winters here. Additional coating should be applied if you want to keep a daily driver solid.

I'm going by what the car is telling me so i can't guarantee accuracy. It has a display that shows mi/kWh and a second display that shows distance traveled and energy used. This is in town driving, mostly no AC, driven by someone who really likes efficiency.

I think I'm in what would be ideal conditions right now for range. Most of my driving is in town, short trips. I would say I'm averaging 4.5 miles/kWh. I haven't charged to 100% since buying it but the car shows 216 miles at 75% battery today.

Not every decision is based around maximizing cost. If my car takes 5.7 quarts then the easiest thing for me is to buy 5+1 quarts. I don't want a 5qt jug with 4qts sitting in my garage permanently.

I think it's unlikely 2 tires of the same size and classification will result in any attributable MPG changes.

If you care at all about longevity a carnauba wax is not the right choice. These types of waxes are really only good for a nice "glow", and ease of application.
