    Oil bath air filter

I started asking and found no one who could give an answer, is a oil bath air filter more efficient than a paper filter. I have a 47 dodge light duty truck that came with an oil bath filter and wanted to know if changing over to a paper filter would be better for the engine in the long run.

Transmission oil for a 47 non synchronized 4 speed

I have a 47 Dodge power wagon with a 4 speed non synchronized 4 speed trans the shop manual calls for a 80w/140 oil. I have been reading some have been using a synthetic 50w oil as a replacement. I believe being a non syncro trans that a yellow metal compatible oil is not a concern so is it...

    FL1A for a 1967 390

I have a 67 mercury with a 390 engine that uses a FL1A type filter and I have been having problems with lifters that stick and then tap from what is thought to be dirt particles. This is an engine that is used on weekends mostly and oil change intervals are often. would a finer filter media help...

    Lubriplate p/n L0981

Thank you for the recommendation I will give it a try. The luberplate is very expensive and I believe not needed for once in a while use. I never realized how complex these issues can become.

    Lubriplate p/n L0981

It is a worm drive but all I hear is about bronze and brass non compatability and the wrong oil for this could cost thousands or even not be repairable because of part availability, thanks Paul.

    Lubriplate p/n L0981

This is a synthetic for a 1947 power wagon winch that has lots of brass and bronze in it is there a comparable non synthetic for an application like this ? It doesn't get used enough for $30 a quart oil that leaks a little thanks Paul.

    1947 90wt gear oil substitute

1947 dodge power wagon shop manual calls for a "90wt oil" for the front and rear differentials what would be a good modern equivalent ? This is a 1 ton rated truck with a 6300lb curb weight and factory 5.83 gears, thanks Paul.
