Drivers Need To Take Resposibility For Their Own Stupidity

I have not been following the accident closely and am just going by what I see in the photo. The lane itself had been ploughed. She must have been going well over the safe speed to climb up a four foot ramp and launch herself over the barrier.

Switching to Mobil 1 0W-40 European Car Formula from Mobil 1 5W-30

It is the Canadian Tire sale which made me consider the European Car Formula. You have to buy three jugs to get the $25. I am only going to buy one jug and get $10 off. Not sure how much longer I will be keeping the Sierra. I need to switch to a smaller vehicle that will fit in my driveway. The...

Switching to Mobil 1 0W-40 European Car Formula from Mobil 1 5W-30

This is for the 4.3l Vortec in my 2006 Sierra. It has always had Mobil 1 5W30 or equivalents in Pennzoil or Costco. The nasty winter we had led me to consider a 0W-X oil. GM calls for 6094M oil for my engine. Will the 0W-40 European Car Formula work well?

After a heavy snowfall, it takes time to clear the snow and until then, you...

    How Does This Scam Work?

Stuff I sell is always under 50 bucks. If I was selling an iPhone or something else expensive, Home Depot sounds like a convemient place to meet up.

    How Does This Scam Work?

I have always posted my phone number on Kijiji ads and have not had any issues. Lately I have posted free stuff ( trying to reduce stuff in my house ) and some will say they are coming tomorrow, hold it for them, and then cancel at the last minute. I should institute a policy of first come...

    How Does This Scam Work?

That is scary. I thought that I would have to give permission before anything could be installed on my device. NEVER CLICK ON AN UNKNOWN LINK - I have come across this often enough that it has been burned into my brain and stopped me from clicking on the links that were sent.

    How Does This Scam Work?

I just placed an ad https://www.kijiji.ca/v-art-collectibles/city-of-toronto/omnibot-robot/1734961771 Not soon after, I get this text I missed the fact that it was a 825 number, so I was less on my guard. Also there was no urgency, he was going to swing by in about five days. Urgency is one...

Metal Scrap Yard Would Not Take A Safe

Stripping the metal out is too much work. It will take a couple of hours to cut out the metal with an angle grinder, break up the concrete and box the concrete so that it can be disposed. In my case the yard eventually accepted the safe. If they had not, I would have had to haul it to our...

Low Profile Tires - Not For Me

All you say is true. If GM had offered 235/85R16 ( not LT) as an option when I bought my truck, I would have picked it over the 245/70R17

Low Profile Tires - Not For Me

I have 245/70/17 tires on my Sierra. I miss the 235/85/16 that I had on my previous truck, a 1986 F250. The 235/16s were larger in diameter than the 245/17s. Large diameter tires are good for hopping curbs, driving over snow banks in the winter and the wheels are much less likely to suffer...

Metal Scrap Yard Would Not Take A Safe

The primary reason for my trip was to clean up my backyard by getting rid of garage door springs, a cast iron sump pump, a garage door opener etc, etc. Stuff that had been buried in the snow in a corner of my backyard.. Scrap iron prices are up a bit. I got 8c/lb a few months ago and I got...

Metal Scrap Yard Would Not Take A Safe

I had accumulated scrap steel in my backyard over the winter, so I made a scrap steel run and included the safe. I was expecting to get paid for the safe but ended up not getting anything for it. I got $26 for the other stuff, 280 lbs of it, and when I talked to the head honcho, he said I could...

Metal Scrap Yard Would Not Take A Safe

It was a small safe, about 24in wide by 22in deep by 15in tall and weighing about 180 pounds. They did not give me a reason why. I had cut the hinges off to open the safe. A customer had lost the key and I opened it for him. It wasn't easy, just cutting the hinges off was not enough. It took a...

    Need To Spray Expanding Foam

I saw the pest resistant foam at the Home Depot site. Apparently it contains a bittering agent. It is twice as expensive, so I was debating whether to spend the extra money.

    Need To Spray Expanding Foam

This is in the garage. It was foamed about ten years ago to prevent mice from coming into the kitchen which shares this wall with the garage. It accomplished the job and kept the mice out. Recently mice have started coming in again. I don't see any obvious gaps, so I was thinking of just redoing...

I Will Never Install A Stacked Laundry Pair

My objection is not so much to the stacked units themselves but more to stacked units in tight closets. This is where the designer/architect goes - the unit I am thinking of is 30w x 34d x 78h. I will make the closet 31 x 35 x79, that gives plenty of clearance. No thought given to hooking up...
