    UOA: How often, and when?

I've been doing some thinking about extended oil change intervals. In particular, I am wondering what is the real cost of extending the OCI. For example, Amsoil will compare 25,000 miles on conventional oil and regular filters, to 25,000 miles with their Signature Series, and one Ea filter...

    MPH4967 and dirty oil?

I just looked at the colour again, and it is not as dark as I thought initially. I guess I was shocked to see it dark at all, as I fully expected to have a difficult time seeing anything like the first time. Anyway, thanks for the replies.

    MPH4967 and dirty oil?

I just did my second fill of Pennzoil Platinum (the new gtl stuff). For the first fill, I had a Wix filter on it. It took around 1500km before I could easily start to see the oil level on the stick (e.e., it was so clear I could not see it). On this new fill, where I used a Motomaster MPH4967...

    Measuring cup for oil?

I just did an oil change on my car, and I used one of those 5L jugs (PP). My car takes 4L, and even though I was trying to be careful (poured a bit, then checked how much was left in the jug) I still ended up with a slight over fill. I don't think it is so much over full as to be a problem, but...

    Walmart Tune It! oil

Out of curiosity, I have contacted Walmart Canada for an MSDS on this product. I would like to know if it is Safety-Kleen oil.

    Walmart Tune It! oil

I am looking at this Walmart Tune It! oil in the 5 gallon pail. It is my understanding that it is re-branded Supertech oil, and is re-refined by Safety-Kleen here in Canada. What do you all think of this oil? I would be using it in my 05 Corolla.

    Matrix oil filter removal

Two questions: Why would a dealer be putting the filter cap on too tight? Don't they know how to service their own vehicles? Why the switch to cartridge filters? Was there something wrong with the spin on filters?

What do you do with filter after a cut open?

I am no tree hugger by any means, but I try to be somewhat responsible with my oil changes. To that end, I take my used oil and filters to a local shop, and they deal with it. But I was wondering what I would do with the filters if I decided to do a cut open. What do you filter cutters do? Still...
