    14 Corolla wheel/tire size change?

Actually the two tire sizes are 205/55-16 and 215/45-17 from the factory.

    14 Corolla wheel/tire size change?

Folks, Thanks for all of the input, it helps. The 14 Corolla S came stock with either 205/55-16 or 215/45-17, mine being the second version with the factory alloy wheels. The two alternate tire suggestions apparently aren't available in these sizes. I looked at the tire rack tests and the...

    14 Corolla wheel/tire size change?

Folks, I have a '14 Corolla "S" that has the 17" alloy wheels with the 215/45-17 tires that I expect are still factory supplied. I'm not happy with this combination. The rough ride, wear rate and noise are what I don't like. Yes, I suppose that I bought the wrong car, but perhaps this change...

    Rookie question

Thanks for the input, but I have been to Discount Honda and Ron Ayers sites and these are all gone. There is probably an aftermarket unit that could be made to work, but this is full restoration and really need to stay stock if possible. John

    Rookie question

Folks, I haven't been on here for quite a while and now need some input on an odd question. I tried a search or three and came up empty as usual. I'm working on an old Honda VF 500 F and have found a problem with the seal on the petcock selector. Petcocks are no longer available for these...

    AutoRX to clean motorcycle clutch?

Thanks for the replies! I know it is wise to change it out. Still, if AutoRx will do the job... I e-mailed Frank at AutoRx and this was his reply. "Please go to www.auto-rx.com and click on Cycle-Rx read test results on wet clutch on Harley and the show bike. Auto-rx will clean up the...

    AutoRX to clean motorcycle clutch?

All, I've tried the search but didn't find anything. I've acquired an '86 Honda VF 500 F with a slipping clutch that I believe was caused by the PO using EC oil. It only has 18,000 miles on the clock. From the collective knowledge here will an AutoRX treatment correct this problem if is due...

Should I sample an A-RX cleaning cycle?

I haven't posted here in a long time, but continue to lurk and learn. A search turned up nothing, and I'm unclear if there is any value in sampling this OCI because of the use of A-RX with Castrol 4T. Will the A-RX skew the results and make the sample useless? This is the first OCI on an '86...

... was suspect for cam pitting and this one shows evidence of this. http://www.pbase.com/358norma/image/77552467.jpg Once at my photo site you can see more. After I finish the A-RX and rinse I'll be opening the covers again to see what has changed and check the valve lash again. I'm hoping...

    Chevron 15/W40, 1984 Mi. '85 Honda Sabre 700

Q1 -- Was this the Chevron Delo HDEO? I would have expected the moly count higher if it was, given the moly in that oil. No, it was just plain old Chevron not the Delo. Q2 -- What is LC-20? LC20 is an oil addative made by Lube Control. They are one of the site sponsors if you care to...

Howdy All, This is my first analysis on this new to me old bike. This sample had sheared back to a 30 which didn't surprise me much considering it had 6 ounces of LC-20 in it. I had the valve covers off to set the tappets. I live in a very sandy area near an open pit sand mine, so maybe that...

Howdy All, This is my first analysis of my Silver Echo. My wife now drives my previous Echo that I have posted resluts from before. http://www.pbase.com/358norma/image/84325443.jpg I hope the thing shows up. I can't seem to get the silicone down much below this level in any of our vehicles...

    Quick results for ARX

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure of anything, and your though is a new approach. I hadn't considered that. I jumped to the conclusion that the smoking on deceleration indicated valve guide/wiper issues. I suppose either is possible. I do have before compression readings and of course intend...

    Quick results for ARX

This is probably a bit premature but I wanted to get out here on the board and to get some opinions. Back in January I bought a new to me '85 Honda V-700 Sabre motorcycle and changed out the oil and added LC-20. I ran this for almost 2K miles and then drained it. The new fill with Castrol 4-T...
