How cold are your dash vents blowing and at what ambient temp.

I spent last weekend visiting family in Peoria and remarked to my sister how good her CX-9's AC worked at 117° outside. I didn't check vent temps but I'd say it was pretty close to where my Rav4 was (39°) when I checked it a few weeks ago with outside temps in the high 90's. After being parked...

Surprised by a $68 countertop ice maker.

I've been using one for about a year and the only complaint I have is the excess water needs to be drained before I add the ice to my freezer bin or it tends to freeze into one big clump of ice.

M1 103A Oil Filter Cut Open

This one was run on my Rav4 Hybrid for 5000 miles along with Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w16. Not much to say about it other than it's another well made filter.

    New Purolator LX4967 Cut Open

Exactly. Just seeing the bits that came out of the outlet side of the filter by shaking it over a paper towel makes one wonder how much more would come out once oil flow/pressure started. Granted some of the ones in the picture of the center tube may have been caused when I cut out the media...

    New Purolator LX4967 Cut Open

Been using the M1-103A on my Rav4 but wanted to dissect a new Purolator to see if it would be another option I might want to use. Took a quick look inside the four that were on the shelf at Walmart and was pleased that all had wide open louvers so I bought one. I've been shoveling rock all...

Serra Toyota 20% Off Parts + Free Shipping Over $75 Starts 06/08/26 through 06/22/26

Okay, I finally figured out what was going on. When I selected a new dealership near me it was defaulting back to Serra when I went to checkout which wasn't discounting the complete shipping cost. I had to remove everything from my cart then start over after selecting a new dealership. All is...

Do you sometimes randomly pick up trash?

I've been known to pick up all the trash I could find in a parking lot, then stuff it through the open window of those that threw something out their car. If their window wasn't partly open then I would place the trash under their wipers, into their grille and wheels. I once watched someone in...

    75W90 Gear Oil

I've been using Klotz Super Techniplate two stroke oil for 10+ years. No smell and works great. I used to mix my own model airplane fuel so I have a lifetime supply.

How big is your stash, hoarders?

In the past I've always had one or two oil changes ready on the shelf for my three vehicles, also my yard equipment and generators. Since the talk of the looming shortage I've bumped that up to get me through the next three years.

Got my spare garage door springs yesterday. Probably won't need them for several more years but at least I'm ready when I do. I can only imagine what someone would charge 10 years from now to replace door springs.

What I considered "unnecessary" things like the complete kitchen and bath remodels, my wife looked at those as "must do" projects or she wasn't interested in buying the house. They were a bit dated and with a little paint and new fixtures would have been just fine but in the long run it was...

Sounds like the same granite countertop experience I had when I lived in SoCal. Only guy that spoke English was the one who came to my house to give me a quote and measure. The two guys that came on install day only spoke Spanish and did an excellent job without me ever needing to ask a...

Forgot to add in the money we saved when we painted our house last fall. Never did call for quotes, just bought an airless sprayer, 15 gallons of the best Glidden paint and went to town.

You'd be surprised at how simple and safe they actually are to change with the right winding bars and a little patience. I wound my new springs per the online instructions and they were just a tad too strong so I backed them off by 1/2 turn and all was good.
