New Car, New Oil; 2012 Hyundai Veloster

So I am coming up on a 7500 mile drain interval on the Pennzoil Ultra with a total mileage of 11.5k. Should I get a UOA on this one or wait until the next given how new the engine is?

I think I'll be taking the Wetter back and exchange it for something else!

New Car, New Oil; 2012 Hyundai Veloster

So the dealership made a bloop. They put on a Hyundai filter with a bad gasket...they say time to time that happens (which doesn't have me too excited). So by the time I got home, about 1 qt of Penzoil Ultra spewed all over my drive way and the road. So I took it back to the dealer and they...

Few questions on my car...2012 Hyundai Veloster

From what I have read on here, it seems that adding Water Wetter would really do all of nothing given the car uses modern standard coolant for its aluminum radiator...is that correct?

Thanks for all the advice! I guess since I have the 5W30 Penzoil Ultra and got it for really cheap I will give it a go and send a sample to Blackstone after 7,500 miles. If it doesn't look good, I'll give a few of the other oils listed here a shot. The factory oil is being changed right at about...

    Redline Waterwetter?

Would this have any advantage in GDI engines using a standard ethylene glycol base for an aluminum radiator? I've used this stuff for years but from everything I am reading here it seems that this stuff has no real advantage when adding to modern coolants...

Few questions on my car...2012 Hyundai Veloster

I love this forum btw. If I ask most people they tell me go with Royal Purple or something. If I ask people here they talk about UOAs and specifics which I love. Thank you everyone for your replies I have a 2012 Hyundai Veloster. I just got it 3 weeks ago and already have 3k miles on it. I am...

New Car, New Oil; 2012 Hyundai Veloster

So here are the official specs from Hyundai: They use and recommend Quaker State. Isn't Penzoil and Quaker State under the same parent Shell company? The standard changes are 7,500 miles, give or take, supposedly using dino oil (I have a feeling it is actually a syn blend but who knows)... The...

So I was at Walmart today and Penzoil Ultra was a dollar more for 5 quarts than Platinum. All they had was 5W30 so I took a 5qt case of that for $25. That seemed pretty cheap. Think I did well?

Hey the oil filter is 326300-35503 supposedly, although I cannot say 100% until I check with the dealer. It sounds like the Hyundai filters are pretty well made so I will stick with them...especially given IIRC they are like $5-7. It sounds like a UOA at 5k from Blackstone Labs would be wise...

Hello, I recently got a Hyundai Veloster. I am obviously going synthetic on it. I drive over 50k miles a year. The car is a smaller I4 (1.6 liter IIRC) with about 130 hp. It has only been out a few months so finding much in the way of UOAs on it has been rough. Has anyone had experience with...

Help With ATF and Possible Flush

Hello BITOG! I have a rather heavily modified Nissan SE-R (with the QR25DE [inline 4 cylinder, 2.5 liters]) with a beefed up automatic. With over 30k miles on the OE Nissan fluid, I am ready to change it out due to a change in color and eagerness to try a synthetic ATF or something of higher...

How to get stale cigarette smoke odor out of my car?

Werd. Bissel makes something called the Little Green. It is a mini shampooer and costs about 80 bucks. Combine that with an aggressive Stoner carpet cleaner and most of the smell will be eliminated (as well as any stains). Then lay some Zep.

I have been wanting to try this. Our all around cleaner has been Gliptone Redstuff and it has been golden. The stronger degreaser we use is Gliptone Emerald Clean and both are far superior to Simple Green.
