    Flaking yellow bulbs

Yellow bulbs nowadays use a low quality coating. In the past the glass was made with cadmium that gave the glass its color. Cadmium has essentially been outlawed in manufacturing due to environmental concerns.

    Oil production peaked in 2006

You are obviously unfamiliar with Pemex's operations. Do not confuse production levels with reservoir depletion. No doubt we will be hearing from these same "peak oilers" that Venezuela is declining. Of course they will conveniently leave out the fact that Hugo Chavez fired PDVSA's most...

    Valero?

All the Diamond Shamrocks are being relabeled Valero. A few blocks from home on another station they just replaced the Diamond Shamrock pumps with Valero and the signs and store are next. Sad in a way because I still remember Gulf, Esso, and others. Odd thing is that Valero is in headquartered...

Is this possible? +1.4 mpg gain

GMorg is right on the money. Aviation 100LL (99RM/2 )burns slower than the racing gasoline equivalent. Octane is an independent variable from burn speed, specific energy, etc.

3-prong connector on H4 and sealed beams same?

I thought the sealed beams all had the same type plug whether they were round/square, large/small, etc. if they were Hi/Lo. I do not know if the High Beam only on the four headlamp setup is different like on your Olds. The S-10 uses only two lamps. The only thing for certain is 165mm sealed...

Any Idea Which Lights These Are?

SEV Marchal and Cibie are now owned by Tier 1 automotive supplier Valeo. Marchal's catalog for the most part went away. The only Marchal item left in production as far as I know is the Marchal Charlie (Series 950). See here http://www.danielsternlighting.com/products/products.html This guy has...

3-prong connector on H4 and sealed beams same?

Try again G-Man. I bought these 165MM H-4s from Dan Stern for my Chevy S-10. The plugs on the stock sealed beam plugs do not fit the H-4s. Dan provided me conversion plugs that I did not use. I just plugged the female spades into the connector after I broke the DOT plugs.

3-prong connector on H4 and sealed beams same?

No, they are different. The H-4 plug is like this |_| The sealed beam is like this \_/ When I installed H-4s, I broke the three prong plastic connector, separating the wires that already had crimped female blade terminals and plugged them into the male H-4 lamp terminals. If you do it this way...

Oil for flat tappet racing engine...

The problem is with the lifters/tappets not the lack of ZDDP. It's manufacturing issue. This post below was written by someone who spent 12 years with Speed Pro/Federal-Mogul on a forum that has a lot of industry professionals. "Good timing on this. Who is your current supplier? The lifter...

    GE Night Hawk

Google Dan Stern Lighting. In addition to all the "tech" he provides, he sells the right stuff. I purchased Japanese Stanley H-4 lamps for my Chevy S-10. I know the Cibie's he also sells are better. But the Stanley's are an order of magnatude better than the OEM garbage mandated by USDOT.
