Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

FWIW I was trying to get the micron rating from Purolator on the new Gold 20000 oil filter that is now being sold at Walmart. They did not provide that data. On youtube there's a few videos produced by Purolator and others who attended the official roll-out of the new 20000 filter line, but...

Would you replace this filter after only 25 miles/10 hours?

Ditto: the filter looks new, at most I would just tap tap tap it on a table upside down and reinstall, that filter looks good for 10,0000-20,000 miles depending on what roads you drive on. I would not recommend using a shop vac or compressed air on any air filter, you can ruin it and not...

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

I was told by the company that their Fleetguard LF3487 does not have a bypass valve and they don't know what the anti-drainback valve material is made from?? Also, when I asked about the life span of the filter (miles/hours) they said they didn't have that information but that the glue holding...

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

That's big difference in flow rate between those two filters (LF3487 = 14.27gpm versus LF16002 = 5.28gpm) So what's the average oil filter (oil pump?) flow rate for passenger vehicle internal combustion engines, OTR trucks, diesel versus gasoline/petrol engines, ----???

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

Back to the original question about filter efficiency: Does anyone have experience using the Fleetguard filters? I found a Fleetguard filter in the PH8A or L30001 size (3/4-16) with the StratoPore filter media? Looking at the Fleetguard website it shows the LF3313 as meeting or exceeding OE...

So that confirms what I could find. There are other filters that should work ie: 3/4-16 thread as long as the bypass is similar. IIRC the other size for the 20000 that will fit is LX3614? And there's another size, a bit fatter and taller, between the PH8A and 3614. Was curious what the new...

Sorry if I missed it, does anyone know the micron specs for the new line of Purolator 20000 filters? All I can find is 99% but no micron number (size) is listed?? Also, anyone know if it's available in the PH8A size? Can't find that information either.

OK, based on the spec sheets it appears the efficiency of the BOSS filters (assuming they all use the same media) is 99% @ 46microns which is surprisingly poor. My only guess is that before M-H bought Purolator the specs were different (better)?? ZeeOSix said Because (Mobil 1 filter) it's not...

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

So maybe a better question might have been to LIST oil filters by performance I did make a list of criteria I was looking for but IMHO the answer appears to be, from my hours of reading before asking the question and the current responses, is that there is no answer as everyone has their own...

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

"What's important to you in an oil filter besides that?" I edited my original post for clarity. Appreciate all the general comments but trying to keep this thread short so it doesn't end up like all the others ie: 37 different opinions with no final answer. Hoping someone will post up the...

Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

I haven't been on the forum for years so excuse me for asking this one question (I did search, a lot): Which oil filter is considered the "best" on the market (2025 USA)? I've been using the Purolator BOSS PBL30001 (PH8A 3/4-19 equivalent size) and don't have any complaints. I did read about...

Is an GC-LB rating absolutely required for Automotive/Light Truck wheel bearing grease??

Found a typo above but it's too late to edit it (why can't we edit things?). Either way, I'll rewrite it all here hopefully without typos So in the first line above I meant to write: Mobilith SHC 220 has a four ball extreme pressure test results of 250kgf which is the same as the Mobilith SHC...

Is an GC-LB rating absolutely required for Automotive/Light Truck wheel bearing grease??

Cujet: Thanks for the information. What I found odd is that the Mobilth SHC had a four ball weld of 250kgf (same as the Mobilith SHC 100 grease) but Mobil 1 Synthetic grease has a four ball weld of 315kgf. So if the Mobilith SHC 100 shows less wear in aircraft wheel bearings than other greases...

Is an GC-LB rating absolutely required for Automotive/Light Truck wheel bearing grease??

If anyone wants to read up on the Mobilith SHC 220 here's a link: Scroll down to read examples of where it's being used: https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants/for-businesses/industrial/lubricants/products/products/mobilith-shc-220 One from youtubby: And for those who speak Russian (point of...

Is an GC-LB rating absolutely required for Automotive/Light Truck wheel bearing grease??

This may have been discussed but maybe I missed it in a search. There was a short discussion of this grease in the past but it didn't address this topic specifically. Either way I've been looking specifically at Mobilith SHC 220 grease which uses synthetic PAO oil in a lithium base. It appears...

    2016 F150 6R80 30K Miles - Found 2 Magnets in Trans Pan

This may have been covered elsewhere; but does anyone in this thead have a solid opinion on adding a strong magnet to the outside of the pan? My thinking is to put a strong magnet near the drain plug, then a few seconds before removing the drain plug, remove the magnet, then do a drain and...

Where to buy the inline Transprotector transmission filters?

Imp4: Thanks for finding that; it is hidden under Contacts. You would think they would put a big button on the home page labeled: "Buy our filters here". That would be too logical. Steve: How long did it take to get the filter shipped to your home?

Where to buy the inline Transprotector transmission filters?

Thanks, I may try a mounted remote filter in the future, but my interest now is specifically; where to buy the (name brand) TRANSPROTECTOR filter. (please see link in my original post above)

Where to buy the inline Transprotector transmission filters?

Does anyone know where, in 2018, we can buy the TRANSPROTECTOR brand filter? Apparently, at least in the past, they were sold by ?Russell's transmission shop in New Hampshire. But going to their web site there isn't a link to purchase that filter. Question is, does anyone know where are the...
