I had to get a rear main seal and the upper/lower oil pan gaskets changed on my 02 Ford Explorer 4.0. The vehicle has 101k A lifetime of M1 and Pennzoil Platinum have served it very well. The vehicle mostly sees short trips and yearly mileage ranges between 4,000 - 7,000 miles/year. The oil has...

BMW now does 20k OCI !

[ADMIN NOTE]: There is a UOA report in this thread, it's just down in the third page... My neighbor came over this weekend and asked for a hand changing his oil & filter in his 2007 BMW 328 sedan. He took it to the dealer for an oil change (was going to pay the $150 for it) and they would not...

07 Sierra Classic: Castrol 5w30 2200mi; wears ok

They say it's wearing better This oil run was on a short time frame. I did about 80% interstate/mountain roads and the rest heavy city traffic. A 2000 mile oil change usually will be 4 to 6 months. I've done a lot more driving in the 07 classic than I ever did with the 04. It took over a year...

    Keeping a deck rust free?

What are the tricks to keeping your riding mower decks rust free? The manual suggests waxing everything. I already clayed, polished with a buffer, and 3x coats of wax, and a coat of wax on the deck. Someone told me to spray WD-40 under it after I clean it all off?

Just thinking of this motor after I get a few hours on it and my next oil/filter change. What type of oil would everyone suggest? In my vehicles I'm running Castrol GTX 5w30 with M1 filters. Is there any way I can get a M1 filter on the briggs motor? Would it restrict flow too much? OR...

Need help with larger oil filter selection

2007 GMC sierra CLASSIC 6.0 Currently it has a PH-48 delco filter. It's no where to be found locally. At all. A Purolator P12222 is equal to the PH-48. I'm looking for a larger Purolator PureOne that will fit? how do I figure it out without having to buy 50 filters?

Ok to switch from M1? Causing bad leaks !!

Here's a bit of history. 98 grand am 3.1sfi 99k. Bought @ 32k, ran dino and changed every 1200-1500 until 40k before I switched to Me It's had M1 since around 40k. Changed every 3k. Does anyone flush their brake fluid each year?

I picked up a pressure bleeder just like this one : https://secure7.nexternal.com/shared/Sto...et=products.asp BUT for a GM vehicle obviously. I love it! Since bleeding the brakes is so easy who else flushes their system out each year? The first time I did it in my wife's car I was shocked to...

How often to change front/rear diff ?

In my 04 2500hd 4wd I changed the front/rear diff over to M1 75-90 @ 2000 miles. It now has 19k. What's the typical mileage that I need to keep this stuff changed out? Previous trucks I used to do it every 20k with it looking well used when it drained.

    2004 GMC 2500hd 6.0 4x4 M1 5w-30 1630mi - 4months

The oil had the GM UV-Dye in it from a rear main seal leaking that the idiots at the dealer can't seem to find. It's there, leaks, leaves spots on the garage floor. It hasent gotten driven much due to work schedules and a major house remodel. I didn't realize I pulled the oil so soon. I guess I...

    UOA: 2004 GMC 2500HD 6.0 M1 5w-40

I'm a bit confused as to why the silicon is still so high. I have checked over and over the air filteration. I checked the factory filter, replaced it with a PureOne filter, etc. It seems quite high. After I run this round of M1, I'm going to dump regular dino Castrol/Havoline in it....Maybe...

What's a good dino? The market is full of stuff

It's been quite some time since I looked at dino oil. I usually run M1 in everything but just got curious. What is the best brand to use now days? I personally used to use valvoline and only valvoline in everything. Now there is a lot more to choose from! Thanks!
