    New Oil Change - 2005 Civic 9,694 Miles - M1 5W-20

The Civic's owner's manual says to change it every 10,000 miles, so M1 is probably overkill since Honda didn't say what kind of oil to use.

    New Oil Change - 2005 Civic 9,694 Miles - M1 5W-20

Silicon is a little high. Now that I think about it, I have a K&N filter on there. But other wear is normal. Silicone in the oil for that long would have worn parts out, correct? That's why I think Blackstone said it was contamination.

    05 Civic M1 5W-20, MMO, 4,564

I was tempted to run this oil/MMO for 7,500, but wasn't too sure since I didn't see many longer OCI's with MMO. I bet it would have been fine. Cancov, I am not looking forward to changing another timing belt. I haven't done one on a Civic, but I am reading it isn't fun. It is recommended to do...

    05 Civic M1 5W-20, MMO, 4,564

Thanks for the welcome and the replies! I thought it looked pretty good as well. The comment Blackstone gave me was that sodium was a little high, but that potassium was not very high so it is doubtful there is a leak. The radiator is full and the overflow tank is at the minimum mark. I am not...

    05 Civic M1 5W-20, MMO, 4,564

First post...I bought this Civic with 92K miles. The PO had done 10K OCI with whatever brand 5W-20 the quick lube places put in it. I put M1 5W-20, 20% MMO and a M1 filter. I used the MMO only for this change to clean out the engine (I had great luck with MMO on a 1995 Geo Metro with 200K+...
