    3,000 Mile Oil Change

Not me. Both BMWs are on 10k mile OCIs and my kids' vehicles get M1 0W20 once a year, which is <10k miles on each.

    Wi-Fi router: reliable, long-lived, low-3-figure price?

One correction to my post above: "gbps" should be "Mbps".

    6-month oil changes?

This. If I drove either of my BMWs as infrequently as you, it's what I'd do.

    Your favorite jobber oil filters?

Can't say I have any favorite jobber filters. If I had to choose I'd say whatever filters the Castrol quick lube place in town used for the few years I used them.

    Wi-Fi router: reliable, long-lived, low-3-figure price?

I have a Netgear Nighthawk RAX42v2, which replaced an old Linksys. My internet is 1gig fiber. My house is approx 2500 sq. ft. The router is not centrally located in the house because reasons, but everyone in the house is able to get several hundred gbps download speeds. This is enough speed that...

2020 F350 6.7l diesel- oil change at dealer gone wrong

I was going to say something about this likely being on a young oil change tech who just didn't give a crap, but that would have been rude, so.

    I would leave it on.

23 land rover. All this for an oil change .

An idea...get a top side extractor that holds around 6 quarts. Extract 4-5 quarts, pull the suction hose out of the dipstick tube (if it has one??), pour the 4-5 quarts used oil into a catch can, re-insert suction hose and remove the rest of the oil. It probably doesn't have a dipstick though...

    Cat pee

The spot where my female cat peed when she had her UTI stinks SOOOOO BAD!!! I've tried several enzymatic cleaners made specifically for cat urine, and nothing has gotten rid of the smell. The area of carpet where she peed is going to have to be cut out. My wife and I have had cats since we met...

Anybody else get a brake booster recall letter from Ford?

Just to avoid any confusion, all of the repair work on the Edge was done by my local independent shop. The only reason I went to the Ford dealer today was because the letter I received from FoMoCo said to take my brake booster repair receipt to my local Ford dealer, and specifically to NOT send...

Anybody else get a brake booster recall letter from Ford?

Yeah, her Edge would be ineligible due to age now. I'm hoping for reimbursement based on the language of the letter which says I am eligible for reimbursement if I had previously paid to have the repair performed prior to receiving the letter.

Anybody else get a brake booster recall letter from Ford?

My daughter's Ford Edge had to have the brake booster replaced in 2021, to the tune of >$600. I recently got a recall letter from Ford stating that I could be reimbursed if I previously had the repair performed. The letter stated to take the repair receipt to my local Ford dealer, which I did...

Non ethanol gas at gas station

The E0 at the Chevron near my house in North AL is $4.29/gal. It also has a big sticker on the pump that "this is not a Chevron product". No idea where it comes from. I'm near Guntersville Lake so I assume it's mostly for the Bass fishers. I use it in my mower.

Ever had a engine or Transmission failure?

Transmission failed in my 1983 Monte Carlo in 1992 at >100k miles. Unknown service history and not maintained well by teenage me. Had a reman trans put in, and it worked fine until I got rid of the car a year later.

Just finished watching True Detective: Night Country. I really enjoyed it, even though it has its imperfections.

Bimmer owners - Any decent used model?

I plan to keep my 535d until it has around 120k miles on it, which should be 2 years from now. Then I plan to sell it. I absolutely love the car, but I don't want to deal with high mileage BMW issues.
