Regular synthetic oil vs Marine synthetic oil use

I'm thinking of purchasing a Mercury 50HP outboard four-stroke motor. Was told I can run a regular 10W-30 oil. Don't I have to run a marine oil? Same thing with my Honda PWC. Can I run, let's say, Amsoil 0W-30 oil in it? I use specifically Amoil products in my cars.

    Synlube oils

What is the consensus on Synlube lubricants? I'm an Amsoil user but was curious on this stuff. Is it really that good according to the website? I've done a search of the website here but there is not much info on Synlube. Thanks.

Some other sources for foam air filters

Unifilter in CA does make custom applications and it looks like some may fit some cars. See: http://www.unifilter.com/ Another source is JET Performance. They make the POWR-FLO air filters. Their line is limited but do make good air filters. See: http://www.jetchip.com/

You can use the longer oil filters

I've always used the longer than specified oil filters for more capacity. I haven't bottomed-out or scraped the oil filter yet. This was with the low riding C5 Corvette. No problems. I have a 02 Camaro Z28 now and I use the longer oil filter in that, too. Amsoil SDF32 to SDF64.
