As I recall it was M1 FF 100 0W-40 they use for factory fills. Same for AMG.

Here is a little comparison between Visom vs GTL. Visom figures are from EM's published spec sheet, no typical values shown. GTL figures I pulled out of my friend's magic hat. These are spec sheet min - max limits. As one can see Noack volatility is hugely dependent on viscosity. No magic there...

Base stock NOACK is hugely related to viscosity, even for GTLs. GTL 4 max. 14 wt% (typical 12.8). GTL 8 max. 5 wt% (typical 2.3). So the Noack for finished lubricant depends on the formulation. One could guestimate that Pennzoil Plat PurePlus 10W30 contains more heavier GTL than 5W30...

One should also take notice that oil manufacturers measure TBN using test method ASTM D2896 and report this in PDSs while for UOAs usually ASTM D4739 is used. AFAIK these values are not comparable.

All I meant to say was GTL base oil that is produced at Pearl plant in Qatar is QHVI with all it's different grades. This is the name it's known for and distributed with to customers. For Shell's own marketing they have come up with a name PurePlus. Without going into semantics of 'rebranding'...
