    Supertech 20k mi Dexos1 Gen3 5w30 -vs- Mobil1 10k mi Dexos1 Gen2 0w30

Hmmm.... I don't think Mobil1 ESP or Pennzoil Platinum LX are available in my Walmart.... We only had Mobil1 Advanced Fuel Economy & Pennzoil Platinum L, iirc.

    Supertech 20k mi Dexos1 Gen3 5w30 -vs- Mobil1 10k mi Dexos1 Gen2 0w30

Was just in Walmart a couple days ago and ended up going with the Supertech for a couple reasons (20k mi rating, Dexos1 Gen3), even tho it was a few bucks more than the 0w30, which *could* be a better base stock. Did I make the *best* choice?!

I'm having a heck of a time trying to find an appropriate motorcycle oil for my bike, which is calling for a 15w-40. The only legit option I can really find with a claimed (but not actually certified) JASO MA rating is Rotella T4. I've heard it didn't shift too well in my Kymco Spade, so I'm...

Anyone have videos that "prove" more or less wear of 40w or higher engine oils?

I've seen this video which puts AmazonBasics / SuperTech synthetic virtually up there with Mobil 1 synthetic, which is the style of test I'm looking for... but these are 30w oils, which probly have the "energy conserving friction modifiers" that we are supposed to fear in bikes.... -...

    Are fixed gear bikes faster?

Fixies are faster than a relatively geared single-speed. Single-speeds actually have to work faster to keep up with the momentup of a fixed gear bike. Fixies are also more efficient than geared bikes in the sense that there is no wasted "down time" during shifts, especially improper shifts...

    CarFax vs. AutoCheck vs. others

This thread's a few months old, but the information is still pretty valuable. I'll be looking for a good vin checker very soon and wondering if anybody is willing to check out what some of these paid reports look like? Maybe take some screenshots for us?? --...

    Electric Bicycles - Need reccomendations

Hmm... well, I guess I was having a blonde moment there, because there's no reason the bike shouldn't freewheel when he cuts the motor off. The real concern with a freewheeling motor in this setup has to do with pedaling the bike home (i.e. - the batteries die). In this instance, a regenerative...

    Electric Bicycles - Need reccomendations

Just made a thread at Endless-sphere.com and watched the video one more time. There's actually an e-bike conversion kit webpage at the end of it, and they pretty much all include the freewheel cranks, albeit at very steep prices. Can't believe I didn't notice that the first few times watching...

    Why I like Windows

Mystic, go download VirtualBox and install any Linux distribution you want. Try them all out within Windows, and if you don't like one... delete it. Once you find one or two you really like, then consider installing it thru other means in order to really start using your hardware with Linux...

    Electric Bicycles - Need reccomendations

So I thought all external motors, and only external motors were considered "geared" motors. But there are internal, hub motors that are considered geared, as well. Another discovery I made is that you can choose between a freewheeling geared motor, or a non-freewheeling type, which you can use...
