Bad Gas - First Time…or Was It?

Good to hear, I about doing the same with some lab equipment a while back but didn’t want the neighbors to think I was cooking up meth in the garage. More of just a fun project than practical, thankfully we have many easy sources for ethanol free pump gas.

You don’t have any issues with the octane being too low from the lack of ethanol? I figured it would be a few numbers under 87 with it stripped.

Breaking in a Honda EB2800 generator (GC 190 Engine), best oil for break-in and long term.

I ran Supertech SAE 30 in my Generac GP8000 (Chinese 420cc) for the first 100 hrs (changed at 30 and 100) then swapped to on hand T5 15-40. Just ran it for 16 consecutive days (oil changes every 4) no issues and looks great. I broke in and have run my Honda EU1000 (aluminum cylinder) on Honda...

Well I hate to say it but I've witnessed the Boogieman and caught his tail on camera. Dumping the factory fill on my 2019 Honda Monkey at 500 miles when something dropped out of the crankcase. Obviously a aluminum chip from a machining process. This engine only had a centrifugal oil filter...

    Fuel Tanker Driver Here

So I read about how base gasoline is 84 octane blended with ethanol to make 87 but what about the "pure gas" or "non-ethanol" fuels that are frequent around my area (New Orleans) Most non ethanol stations will carry 87 octane and 91 octane. 10-15 years ago you could find 93 octane pure gas but...

    93 Accord 260k valve train.

One of these F22 Honda engines (same as yours) had 30k original miles at the time of the timing belt (2013ish) and the other had 100k original miles. Can you guess which is which? (It's not the one you expect) That dirty F22 still ran great, and my clean specimen is still running today...

Dino every 5k or syn every 7.5k? (consumer math!)

I change my oil when it’s been long enough and I’m bored. Seems to be 3k to 7.5k depending on time of year. Always syn because my engine is not a peasant and deserves “quality” oil. Aka just because I can.

    Mobil One Extended Performance filter

This is my latest cut on my 14 6.7 PSD. It’s an OEM Motorcraft with only 4300 miles of service. To the fella that said it’s an “ultra look alike” show me a Fram Ultra that looks like this. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthr...raf#Post4479263

    Because I Can Part II

We still use SAE 40 in marine environments. Just recently have they decided to go to a 15-40 in our Caterpillar and Cummins engines. Still 40 weight in all the DDs and EMDs
