You can lock the transmission in 1st gear, I did a rallyx this way.

Remember you are aiming for the middle of the dipstick range not the top.

I was told by my mechanic buddy to fill what they spec in the manual, dipsticks can be set wrong. Also, any elevation can throw your dipstick readings of drastically. Putting to much oil in your vehicle can cause you to run very high oil pressure or to low if you get oil frothing from your crank...

Wot but stay low in rpm, say 3500. Try and cycle the engine this way for first 50-100 miles. Change oil/filter after this period.

after reading blackstone's instructions, they want you to warm the car up before taking a sample. Also, they say to wait a couple seconds after you start draining the oil to get a sample.

I forgot to get a sample until after the oil was drained. I manipulated the jack to get the last bit of oil out of the pan. So how much with this mess up the oil report results? The car had not been driven for a couple days.

Spec V@100cST is 11.7. Report shows 11.3.....how do you figure it "thickened up?" The two viscosity numbers increased over the first report running same numbers.

Oil report Ran over 15 autox events on this oil. Oil temps reached around 240 degrees on a couple weekends where ambient temp exceeded 100 degrees. I added 3/4 can of lubro-moly. Seems like the oil thickened up some over its life.

Good question, i have always wondered the same thing. I would guess the answer is yes.
