4 years at Clarkson U. I remember many -30 to -40 Potsdam days. I think I ran 10w-30 in my Chevette.
BTW, I'm using my heated steering wheel when it's 50 degrees in Florida. I don't know how I survived up there.

That being said, I always use an AC Delco on my Corvette and haven't had any issues.
Don't know if the filtering specs are the same, but the construction is different. The black one appears to be a PG with coil spring and metal center tube. Blue is made by Champ with leaf spring and e core.
