    I have been reading about different engine oils cleaning abilities here on the forum but have not seen much regarding how engine oils cleaning ability is affected by the oil temperature. Does the detergents in the oil need to reach a certain temperature to be effective?

    In a diesel turbo i would not hesitate to use conventional if its according to the manufacturers spec. But in a gasoline turbo engine i would never use anything else than a fullsynthetic oil. Cant really compare a diesel turbo with a gas turbo..

    Mobil 1 0W40 is a great choice for the engine you have. Make sure that the PCV works, It should be negative pressure at idle in the dipstick tube and under the oilfiller cap.
