Is this part of the reasoning behind them or any lab wanting to know the make and grade of oil submitted?

OK, throw out what percentage you consider as a +/- error rate for VOA, UOA and/or betwixt the twain.

Thanks for the advice along w/time for your help. I was concerned about this blend of multiple M1 oils. I can appreciate differing designs/formulation based on particular engines/environment. That's why my OCs previously were 3K or a few hundred miles over. I had the NAPA kits for over six...

MMO vs TCW3 as a fuel additive

If that's a 34gl, presume turbo diesel, tank it comes out to 136:1 As such it's already "burnin'" coal oil. Some even add a shot of petrol as I understand especially in colder climates.

MMO vs TCW3 as a fuel additive

I admit that I noticed no such MPG drop or gain. I can tell the dif in 93E Vs. 93 E free usually, I do not have a ethanol meter, so I never know how much E has been added. I see more potential in possible increased compression, from well worn engines, than any alleged upper cylinder lube...

I asked specifically what anyone thought of the depletion values betwixt the VOA and the UOA over the length of 5K miles. More than once. I'm not making any claims to a magic grade. For the most part I'm not inquiring on how various elements, even at elevated levels, might respond with one...

MMO vs TCW3 as a fuel additive

I finally had the opportunity to try out the turkey baster. Much more accurate and easier along w/less mess. I'm sure I can tweak a mite from this ratio, but I'm right in the 'hood.

How many miles do you estimate the cat could last under such environment? Oils may not work that way. But, from the VOA to UOA at 5K I'm seeing a TBN at 5.5 that only dropped 3.9. A viscosity that dropped from barely a 40 to barely a 30; almost a full grade. Which is concerning unto me. All the...

No, the analysis is correct. I'm not concerned about the elevated levels. I'm only interested the the rate of depletion and the amount left after 5K of the UOA. Nor does the addition of 0.5 qt of WW 0w20 at 3880mi concern me. That's trivial. I didn't have any 0w40 on hand and hadn't originally...

MMO vs TCW3 as a fuel additive

I have to confess that for the last 3K+ miles I've been a closet UCL participant. I ran a full tank, maybe two at 150:1 and leaned out from there in a 2.0TDI. I'm blending a marine 2 cycle oil with a high ester 2 cycle oil. Mixing was a pain as was pouring it in the tank. I bought a turkey...

Instead of looking at this comparing it to straight M1 0w40 I thought one or two would compare the deletion amount and percentage of UOA Vs. VOA. OILS AUTO DELIVERY 12/16/2020 - VOA [UOA] VOA -Metals (ppm) [5080mi UOA] -3880mi 1/2 qt low topped off Wally-World 5w20 Iron (Fe)1 [20] Chromium...

MMO vs TCW3 as a fuel additive

With such a lean mix as 640-1 I can not fathom how anyone might notice any improvement; save from a well worn lawn implement. One oz of oil per 5gl of petrol isn't much of a bump.

I need no help figuring out the mix as I know. This was the first VOA UOA after several OC attempting to dial in by feel. That's why most OC were 3K or closer than 4K. VOA shows viscosity about 0.4 points above 30 grade max whilst UOA viscosity ends up 0.8 shy of falling out of 30 grade. TBN...

    Keep K&N or NOT ?

In this neck off the woods fuel options are limited. Plus, I do not have a tune that would allow the engine to take full advantage of E30 over E free 93. The only variable for me is how much ethanol in the up to 10% 93E offering. Sometimes after running E free I note a MPG hit after pumping 93E...

I'm crazy, crazy for feelin' so blue. Maybe I bought some tainted relabeled black market Russki oil. I did note it said Nyet Mobile Unus. Or perhaps the NAPA lab guy was huffin' discounted brake cleaner and posted the wrong result. I could've made a mistake copying the results. But, that's...

    Hankooks on the Camry

I finally replaced me maypops going from Cooper 225/40r18 front, Hankook 225/45r18 rear to Yokohama ADVAN SPORT A/S 245/40R17 all the way around. At $81 each I couldn't resist, plus that helped offset the cost of new 17x8 wheels [YF Sonata OEM 18x7.5] and set of Denso TPMS. I snagged the free...

    Keep K&N or NOT ?

Still kickin' the can, eh? Before I'd install a gravel screen for a wee bit more top-end, I'd pony up for E-free 93 all the time instead of supplementing E up to 10% 93 on Mondays for the price of mid-grade. And, that extra power is only felt in your head. Not even close to the diff in...

    VOA+UOA YF Sonata 2.0T 112K-117K miles M1

I set the first trip meter at OC and check the stick zealously, so if I can go 8K, bearing in mind topping off 0.5qt every 3500mi or so, that would be nice. The base oil was M1 0w-40. Accompanying oils were also M1. Nothing else was added.

Valvoline Premium Blue Restore 10W-30 in a Honda 2.4L

3880mi into OC finds me half a qt shy on the stick. I went ahead and topped off out of a jug of 5w20 that was lying around gathering dust. I'll stretch this OC to 5K. I've decided to hold off on the VPBR OC until spring/summer.
