    Delo 15W-40 stops oil useage in 1987 B&S 3.5Hp

Stop may be a bit extreme but it's gone from needing oil at every second useage till still full after four cuttings... No it wasn't a miraculous cure... After a fresh change with QS GB straight 30W and using the remainder for add, I started adding the Delo... First couple cuttings with Delo it...

Apparently I've bragged one time too many on the original NGK plug in my '04 Honda, it's done, 2016 ain't happnin'.. Got mower out yesterday to cut ankle deep grass(been mild & wet here), about half through front it started sputtering and coughing back in the carb... Hummm sounds like ignition...

    Snappers all started...

All were pushed into the corner with whatever treated gas that was in them, none had more than 1/4 tank... Each was filled with same gas I bought last fall... The '87 on right lit off first pull on the rope... Of course I use the 90* tilt method(spark plug down for two sec) before cranking to...

    More Old Oil

    Well for what it's worth

Trying to get a head start on the yard work, I fired two of my old Snappers(1980 & 1987)with 3.5Hp B&S engines a couple days ago, both parked since Nov with some gas in them... Filled them with same E10 I bought last fall(what was in the tanks) and treated with Sta-Bil... The half dead...

Never Judge A Book By It's Cover

After seeing me rebuild the '83 Snapper with a '04 Honda engine, one of my neighbors brought me a freebee mower yesterday... It's a cheap MTD with a Tecumseh that had no doubt been setting outside for a year or more(someone gave it to him)... First I noticed the red primer bulb on the carb was...

    Snapper Reborn

Here's results of mating a '05ish Honda engine from a POS front drive Craftsman to a '83 Snapper deck that originally was not self-propelled... Most of the drive parts came from a '82 parts Snapper and the differential came from the '81 Snapper that recently blew the engine... No I haven't...

All Good Things Come To A End

Hi all, first post in the Small Engine forum, but a couple may have seen me bragging elsewhere on BITOG about my 1981 Snapper mower with a 3 1/2Hp Briggs & Stratton that still ran great... Well On Fri June 3, just before 6:00PM EDST, she bit the big one, RIP... It has used oil for years, so I...

Best Oil for a Supercharged Mercury Marauder

Hi Everyone I recently bought 2003 Marauder that had a Eaton Supercharger installed approx 6 months ago, also dyno tuned it produced 430RwHp, so I'm guessing crank Hp is around 480-490... Mileage at time of install was around 35K mi and has now just crossed 43K... Of course Ford recommends...
