How to clean a Mityvac 7201?

I recall cleaning it up after first use with soap and water but I don't bother cleaning it any more after use. I just pour out as much fluid as I can. I only use it for extracting oil from one car so there's no mixing different types of fluids.

Sockets get stuck new air tool

Avoid using hand-tool sockets and adapters on impact wrenches that have a hog ring socket retainer. The hand-tool sockets/adapters have indents on the inner walls of the receptacle that the hog ring can get stuck in. This typically requires excessive force to remove the socket, which tends to...

Educate Me on Different Oil Drain Plug Washers

To prevent leaks, use a new OEM washer each time and torque the drain plug to spec. Washers are cheap when purchased in quantity.

    Fluid syringe that lasts?

I've used suction pumps in the past but I'm planning on buying a Motive 1740 1.5 gallon Transfer Pump for filling differential and transmission fluid so I don't have to re-fill in between transfers. http://www.amazon.com/Motive-Products-17...e+power+bleeder I also have a Mityvac MVA6851 Fluid...

2015 Accord Maintenance Minder oil hitting early?

It's probably a good idea to change the oil on a shorter OCI if you're idling the motor for extended periods to warm it up or making frequent short trips. This can potentially introduce more fuel and moisture into the oil reducing its effectiveness to lubricate and protect the motor.

    New brake shoes squeal

I just finished up a brake pad replacement on our Odyssey that was rather noisy when the brakes were applied. I applied a thin layer of high temperature brake grease between the back of each brake shoe and the shim. I also applied a thin layer of grease on the ears of the shoes that fit in the...

    Motorcraft Battery?

I replaced the OEM Motorcraft battery in my 2007 GT500 in 2010 after three years because the seal on the negative post failed and corroded the terminal, but it still started the car just fine. I replaced it with another Motorcraft battery and it is still running strong after almost six years in...

Cordless ratchet: 3/8" or 1/4" drive?

I have the 3/8" Milwaukee M12 and really like its utility working in tight confined spaces where it's difficult to swing a ratchet wrench. I chose the 3/8" for the extra torque. I don't ever recall wanting to adapt it down to 1/4". You can't go wrong with either one.
