I have a 2002 F350 7.3 diesel 4x4 and have used the Motor Craft Power Stroke 15w40 with out any complaints. I think it is a quality diesel oil. If I used another brand, I would most likely choose the Delo 15w40.

Just spoke with VW service. He said his dealer ship uses Castrol 5w40 Synthetic. I guess there are other 5w40 synthetic diesel oils as well.

My daugter/son in-law have a 2002 VW TDI diesel, runs great, great milage. I know VW calls for a 5w40 oil, just wondering, is this a synthetic diesel oil. Can the oil be obtained anywhere other than the dealer? Thanks

SjS I have a 2002 F350 Power Stroke 4x4 Super Cab and plan on sticking with the MotorCraft 15w40 diesel oil and MotorCraft oil filter. I believe Dodge (Cummins owners) use this oil. You may want to do some research with some Dodge Cummins Diesel owners. Good Luck

I just bought a 2002 PSD 7.3 F350 with 26,000 on it. The Ford Dealer changed the oil and filter using MotorCraft 15w40 oil and the Motorcraft Powerstroke Diesel oil filter. Is this a good diesel oil or can I do better? Thanks

Thanks Guys for the feedback. I hope the Nissan Dealer would ensure their bulk oil equipment is keep clean! Chris B, Nissan trucks are actually pretty tough, this is my second one. Maybe down the road, I'm thinking about a Ford or Dodge diesel truck who knows?

Zits I must admit they are both great dino oils.If I had to pick another dino oil it would be Castrol GTX or Chevron.I remember other members leaned toward Pennzoil based on the numbers. I'm not an expert, just looking for the best dino oil for my truck.
