    Rough idle: scanner clues?

Did you pull the battery cables to reset the ECU after cleaning the throttle body? That would explain why it's idling high. ECU needs time to re-learn. It will do it quicker if you disconnect the battery for a bit, and have it start over versus learning over what it already has.

Is this the price for Direct Injection?

I laughed when i read you expected 100k trouble-free miles from a BMW. Maybe 10k miles.... but 100k, yeah right! But agreed with the others, can't blame this one on DI. Carbon buildup is the major issue associated with DI, unless it is accompanied by port injection.

I use meguairs gold class soap with my Gilmour 95QGFMR Foamaster II. Works pretty well, but there are better foaming soaps out there dedicated to this purpose.

Great choice! That car will run forever, no doubt! I'm a huge fan of the "new" L-Finesse grill, the NX pulls it off quite nicely.

TFL: 2016 Tundra vs Tacoma, towing mpg

Yeah, I wish they didn't use cruise control, but they do that so that comparisons are the same between vehicles. It makes for a semi-controlled speed in most of the cars. I also think 70mph is too high atleast if you are trying to compare MPGs', but they claim that's the speed people tow at.
