    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

AT band adjustment: didn't know anyone was still doing this. Is this for their 3-speed, or all AT's: http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/transmission/automatic/AT_band_adj.htm

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

Re-reading these posts, it looks like I am an apologist for Chrysler. I'm not. The worse car I've ever owned was a 1976 Plymouth Volare. So...I know what a bad car is all about. Decades later, I chanced a PT Cruiser, which turned out to have been the best car I've ever owned (and I owned a 2000...

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

A "ruse?" It's free to new vehicle buyers. What exactly, then, is the expense downside??? And if Chrysler goes belly-up? GM was interested, and a dozen or so others, there will be a buyer. (May not be any repair coverage, like Daewoo, but...). Nobody out there has ever had a CV joint and/or...

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

"All seals, gaskets and for me a 4WD the front hubs alone can be $1200.00 to replace and they usually wear out by 100,000." Panzerman makes a good case above. My base Pacifica is pretty simple: 4 speed Auto, 3.5L., and I think this is a good deal. But give me one of the new 6 speed auto, or...

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

"...it only requires a free inspection once a year to keep it in force if you have records for min required service?" From their website: "Are there specific provisions to the new warranty? In order to maintain the Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, you must have a powertrain inspection...

I'm guessing, but don't know, that these are the parts covered (current Mopar coverage - taken from dealer website): Covered Engine Components Cylinder Block and all Internal Parts Cylinder Head Assemblies Timing Case, Chain, Gears, Belts and Sprockets Harmonic Balancer Oil Pump Water Pump...

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

And Chrysler offered me a lifetime warranty on ALL parts for my 2006 Pacifica for $4,215. Too steep for me, but interesting...

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

Below is the FAQ from the Chrysler website I've poorly described above: "Q12: If I purchased my vehicle on July 24 or 25, am I still eligible for the new lifetime limited warranty? A12: No. However, Chrysler Service Contracts offers a Lifetime Powertrain service contract that is similar to the...

    Chrysler Lifetime Powertrain Warranty?

For $750, this powertrain warranty is available for purchase by owners of 2006 and 2007 model-year vehicles that are still under the 3 yr./36K basic coverage (and are not eligible like the new vehicle owners). At least this is available for the time being, as the Chrysler website indicates it is...

higher efficiency & less flow restrict = less wear

well, I haven't seen too many others on here think this way - most have indicated that their UOAs show similar wear numbers, regardless of oil filter efficiency selected. The "Bob" even has written on here that (to paraphrase him loosely) the use of any filter - at all - may not affect...

    pro tec oil filter

Apparently true about Wix: here's a bid proposal for Hawaii, showing Wix - Protec as bidder. www4.co.honolulu.hi.us/bfspurchasingbids/main/wrkAttachments.asp?

    pro tec oil filter

Can't find out. Did see Mann & Hummel (Germany) who along with Bosch I think own Purolator, have a ProTec Division, but it doesn't state on their site that that division manufacturers any filters (their other division does).

    Possible Problem with Pure One

"He had said he had recommended Pure-One as one that he had not seen do that before." Appreciate the attention-warning, but isn't the above, considering your's was the first, a good evaluation? Have to wonder what other filter brands he has seen with problems. And frequency, severity, etc.

    why isn't Amazon.com a corporate sponsor?

Has anyone from BITOG approached them? Talk about a perfect match with 16,000 BITOG members - Amazon's automotive section has oils, syn oils, filters, additives, tools, etc. A fellow BITOGer's comment directed me to Amazon because of the price for a Purolator PureONE oil filter - $4.84, and NO...

    New CJ-4 oil info

"Any corporation is money ahead to pay $20 for an analysis, and then deny your multi-thousand dollar claim, if they can show that you didn't follow warranty requirements." Good! And Ford & GM can continue down this bankruptcy path they presently are on, by alienating the relatively few loyal...

The Truth about J.D. Power's Initial Quality Study

"Cars with better score in JDP's initial quality study tend to do better at long term reliability study. So yes, the IQS is a good indicator for long term reliability for newer cars where long term data are not yet available." Just curious...what is the available evidence for this? I've not...

    NAPA Pro Select filter

"Make him think that the distinction is only in your mind. That way, he'll stop trying to protect you from yourself seeing that it's a lost cause." Good advice, or, tell him he's welcome to put the better oil filter on your car, but you're still only going to pay $3 for it no matter which one...

Rotella 10w-30 now SM rated?--no more SL?

Supposedly, the SM rated oils have other, non VOA-detectable chem-adds to make up for reduced zinc, etc. The newish Rotella T HD 10W-30 is rated for SM, and SL, and SJ, in addition to CJ-4, CI-4 Plus, CH-4, CG-4, & CF-4. The synthetic 5W-40 is reportedly coming out -sometime- in 2007 in the...
