Vredestein High Trac vs Yokohama Ascend GT vs Goodyear Assurance Comfortred

We have Michelin CC2 on my wife's 18 Camry and I'm generally impressed by the tire. There's something about the CC2 that doesn't really connect with me and I must confess it could be something as superficial as it's not visually appealing.

Vredestein High Trac vs Yokohama Ascend GT vs Goodyear Assurance Comfortred

I did mean ComfortDrive, must have traveled back in time 10 years or so. The SE is a little harsher than my wifes 18 LE and if that could be tamed without sacrificing too much other stuff it would be good. The Premier's trait that I like most is the expanding groove so that wet performance is...

Shop used the wrong oil filter element (cartridge), result in little to no filtration for the past year, how bad is it?

I was under the impression that there was concern about the manner in which that sample was collected. I actually though you were the one who expressed that concern.

Oil for 2004 Volvo XC 70

I bought my 2008 Volvo S60 2.5T with around 20K miles in March 2009. I had the oil changed to M1 0W40 prior to taking delivery and have run that same oil continuously. The engine now has 155K and my independent Volvo specialist mechanic says that he figures that the engine would last forever. I...

Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus versus Alenza AS Ultra

We had the Ecopia flavor of the month as OEM on both of our Camrys. Both were replaced around 25K miles because the wet weather performance, not great to begin with, had begun to diminish pretty badly. I echo the sentiment that you should use TireRack as a source of information. I find their...

Shop used the wrong oil filter element (cartridge), result in little to no filtration for the past year, how bad is it?

Blackstone sells a pump that you can use to extract a sample. I bought one and it's pretty easy to use. Mine goes in through the dipstick so if your car doesn't have one, I'd check to see if there is an alternative. https://www.blackstone-labs.com/products/vacuum-pump/

Vredestein High Trac vs Yokohama Ascend GT vs Goodyear Assurance Comfortred

I'm getting close to needing tires for 2014 4cyl Toyota Camry SE. Current tire is Michelin Premier, love that tire but they no longer make it. I'm considering the three tires in the subject line plus the Continental LS. I have the Continental LS on my 2008 Volvo and like them pretty well. The...

You Can't Change Your Oil Too Much!

The claim "it's always worked for me" using frequent oil changes appears to be based on the fact that you never had an engine failure. Undoubtedly there are longer ocis that would have produced the same result for the engine at lower out of pocket cost, less time devoted to oil changes and less...

Opinions? Tires for 2004 Acura TSX. 60 mi hwy, 20 mi city per month NYC area climate

I have PureContact LS on my 2008 Volvo S60 and Michelin CC2 on my wife's 2018 4cyl Toyota Camry LE. I like both tires a great deal and will be hard pressed in choosing between those two when it comes time to replace tires on my 2014 Toyota Camry SE.

    Best 0w16 oil?

Does Toyota have any cars with OLM's? I thought all their cars had 10K OCI's except in the severe use category.

I think I'm going to try Nokian 8 studded tires

I'm seriously considering the Nokian Entyre 2.0 next time my Volvo needs tires. A Swede I work with questions whether Volvos would reject a tire manufactured in another Scandinavian country. He indicated that it was almost certain that it would reject a tire built in Norway but Finland might be OK.

Turanza Serenity Plus vs Cinturato P7 Plus vs Premier

Both the Volvo and 2014 Camry have Michelin Premiers. It's reasonably good at everything except perhaps treadwear which is just kind of OK. I wouldn't call them excessively loud but they're not quiet either. The Continenetal LS has my eye for the next set of tires.

Long line at the air pump

I realized that I hadn't checked the pressure in my spare tires for quite some time. One of the Camry's with a space saver was down to 18 lbs, the other Camry's space saver was at 42. The Volvo with a full service spare was at 15 lbs. I've got to do better for sure.

Michelin Defender LTX M/S ~3,000 mile review.

I put a set of Defenders on my 97 Camry last July. They've been rotated one time. This car takes 195x70X14 tires and there aren't many choices. I like Michelin tires primarily because they come round and stay round. These Defenders replaced a set of Michelin Destiny which was Discount Tires...
