    10w30 M1?

The owner's manual for my 2005 Pathfinder with the same 4.0 engine as yours states that 5W30, 10W30 and 10W40 is OK, with a preference for the 5W30. I have used Mobil 1 0W40 for 10 years with excellent results: no oil consumption at all in a one year, 10,000 mile OCI.

My Grandpa REFUSES to own ANY Toyotas....

I am 78 years old. I can remember WWII. The Japanese got us at Pearl Harbor, but we got our revenge many times over before the war was over. We burned down almost every city in Japan, and Killed more Japanese in one particular B-29 raid on Tokyo than we lost in the whole war, including our...

    10k OCI's without UOA?

I do yearly changes, regardless of miles. I've been doing this since Mobil 1 came out back in the late 1970's. Before I retired back in 2001, this was 18,000 to 20,000 miles per year. Never had a single oil related problem in up to 140,000 miles on my commuter vehicles. Now, I only drive about...

Best Synthetic oil for Nissan Armada 5.6 V8? Help

We have a 2008 Titan and a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder has the 4.0 V-6. The owner's manual for the V-6 says 5W30, 10W30, and 10W40 oil is OK. We use Mobil 1 0W40 in both of them. Oil is changed at one year intervals; this is about 9,000 miles. The Pathfinder is 9 years old, and has...

    2008 2.5 Jetta

Absolutely NO need to change M1 0w40 at 5,000 miles. Any name brand dino oil will do that. M1 0w40 is good for at least 10,000 miles in that car.

How often do you redline your cars?

I was just thinking about new owners of the big Cadillac, the XTS. It has the 3.6 liter V-6, and has the horsepower peak at 6800 rpm and the redline at about 7000. Do you think they ever get within 2500 rpm of their redline?

Letter from insurance company requesting mileage

I've been with State Farm since I was 16 years old. Of course, I was on my Dad's insurance then, and when I bought a car of my own, I stayed with them. I am now 76 years old, and I have never been asked for mileage statements, other than the distance I drive to work.
