    Pennzoil Ultra 5w20, 6,469 miles, 2009 Honda Accord (2.4, 79,494 miles)

This vehicle did a 35 mile round trip twice a day, M-F during this OCI. About half or more was highway driving. Driving style was not necessarily easy on it but not really hard on it either. However, prior to summer of 2019, it only got used for short trips mostly, less than 5 miles each day...

    Pennzoil Ultra 5w20, 6,469 miles, 2009 Honda Accord (2.4, 79,494 miles)

UOA of Penn Ultra 5w20 with 6,469 miles on it from a 2009 Honda Accord 2.4l at 79,494 miles on the engine. No make-up oil or additives. First UOA of this vehicle. Thought I'd pull a sample just to see how things are. Owned since new. No issues to report. Changed due to Honda's MM at 15%...

Little known secret about Taps at Military funerals

Just went a few weeks ago to my wife's grandfather's internment in South Carolina at the National Cemetery in Beaufort. He retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant in the Marines. His wife was also interned at the same time. Full color guard. 21 gun salute, run by another Master Sergeant...

    Noisy windshield wiper blades

Wipers are like $5 each. I paid $3.88 per blade last week. I replace every 6 months here in FL. I have wiped a little silicon spray on them to keep them clean and supple. Don't overdo it. Pain to get off of glass.

What happened to the real pickup trucks with regular cabs?

My issues with new trucks: Price tag. They're now too tall to fit in my double car garage. No bueno. All my neighbors leave their pickups out in the driveway because none of them fit. Full-size trucks are now huge, difficult to load and unload without a step stool or tailgate/bumper gimmick to...

    2006 Silverado 4.8 UOA Peak 5w30

Well, I guess the bottom line for me is, I know I'm not looking at a cracked head and that was a huge relief for me when I received this report. I'll keep an eye on the coolant and see if the new cap has fixed my issues. I'll skip the MOS2 moving forward. I took the time to read through the...

This is a fascinating read that let me to think about my use of MOS2. I told Blackstone that I used about 1/3 of a can on this oil change, which I completely forgot to mention here and they didn't reference in their comments. If this article is correct about sulfur possibly attacking copper...

    2006 Silverado 4.8 UOA Peak 5w30

Haven't logged in in a long time, so hopefully I attached the report correctly. I was concerned about some coolant loss with no visible leak found. This truck has the Castech heads known for cracking. I did change the radiator cap and haven't seen any loss since, but it's still early. I did...

    LINCOLN and civil war

I'll probably watch the movie on DVD. Seems like it might be a good one. He was a good man, seems to have a moral compass, and much was required of him, but I do not hold Lincoln even in my top 10 list of presidents. Just read Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly. Pretty good read, albeit with some...

    First coat

Collinite 845 is probably the easiest stuff to work with, IMO. And it lasts a really long time. Definitely clay the car first. If it has alot of iron from rail dust, you can try Iron X.
