2018 Kia Sportage AWD 2.4 non-turbo GDi (dealer says...)

Hyundai/Kia is making some nice cars/SUVs these days. I just bought a 2018 Kia Stinger GT and took my own oil for my first oil change (2500 miles). My dealer charged me $14 for the labor and filter, which I thought was very fair.

I have a little hotter version of the same engine in a 2008 Speed 3 and Pennzoil Platinum 5W/30 has worked well for me. I have preferred it over (plain super syn) M1 and RP in this engine.

    I asked Amsoil....

Redline SI-1 and Lucas UCL. I know Lucas gets a bad rap as a cleaner but is it not decent as a UCL? The Redline is both a healthy dose of PEA and a UCL. Amsoil could make a nice P.I. plus with UCL built in or a separate product that you add an ounce or two per tank.

    Amsoil P.I. in 2.3 DISI

I have a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with 50,000 miles and decided to try some Amsoil P.I. to see if it helped. The only fuel system additives I have used are one can BG-44 at 30,000 miles and one bottle Techron Concentrate at 40,000 miles. I only use fuel from two places and both are top tier. The Shell...

Looking for xtended OCI oil for WRX.

M1 0W/40, GC, M1 TDT 5W/40, RL 5W/40, Amsoil 5W/40 or RTS 5W/40. I would stay away from Edge, especially since we can only get 5 or 10W/30 here in the U.S.A., correct? If you are doing 150 hwy miles a day then 5-7.5K miles should be fine. If you want to spring for a couple of UOAs then you will...

    stage 3 NSRT-4 3000 mile interval mobil 1 5w,30

I ran 5W/30 M1 or RP in my Srt-4 but this was in the pre-Bitog days. I had an big-wheel stock turbo and ported exhaust manifold with lots of other goodies. Even with the S3 the Srt-4 is a lot easier on oil than the Speed3. Looks like the 2.4 is holding up well. I would recommend M1 0W/40 or GC...

New 2009 Nissan Altima with 2.5 engine

I would change out the FF at 2,000 miles and then 3,750 for the next two OCIs. I would venture to say that PP or M1 are overkill for this engine at 3,750 miles but they are great choices and easily go the 7,500 miles per Nissan. You could also just run a good dino like PYB or Valvoline, etc. and...

    kendall o/c special.

They offer this deal every month and it is a good deal. The ones in our area use Purolator filters and even the plain syn blend oil is a very good oil. Kendall oil is made by Conoco/Phillips and you can go to the website and see the specs. Also, just ask for a tire rotation and it is free with...

    Group III and Turbo ?

I think you would be fine but if I were going to track my Speed 3 I would probably spend a little extra on some Redline. I am running PP now but that is for 95% highway miles. I get into the boost often but never for extended periods of time.

Dino oil in a turbo! Good god man, are you trying to blow it up? :) That is a very good report and I bet the Rotella will work well for you as well.

switching to synthetic at 105,000 miles

That Motorcraft 5W/20 is a very good oil and switching to MC Syn 5W/20 will do no harm. You made a good oil choice and I agree that the MC filter is the way to go. PP would also work well or Valvoline Max-Life.
