    08 Mitsubishi Evo X coolant?

It's Peak extended life 50/50 premixed. Not the global stuff. I figured OEM is always the safe bet. I wanted to avoid the half hour trip to the dealership and having to mix the stuff myself. The already diluted stuff is easier. More accurate already mixed. But it's simple enough doing it...

    08 Mitsubishi Evo X coolant?

I'm coming up on my 30K maintenance which includes changing the coolant. I bought a couple gallons of Peak 50/50 antifreeze. But after reading some stuff online, I'm realizing it may not be the best thing for my engine. It states on the container that it can be used in all makes and models of...

AMSOIL recommended oil is different now???

Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me a few months ago then. Because I could've sworn it was the same for both models. A tech guy at AMSOIL said that Mitsu must've changed what they recommend to AMSOIL. He also said that AMSOIL goes by whatever the manufacturer tells them. Now I have to get...

AMSOIL recommended oil is different now???

The MTF shifts similar to stock. Haven't noticed any difference between the two. The thing that really urks me is I originally bought the MTG and a dude at AMSOIL said to replace it with MTF. So I pretty much threw away new MTG in the trash. Now the MTG is recommended. What's weird is the...

AMSOIL recommended oil is different now???

I didn't talk to anyone at AMSOIL yet. I saw it online today and sent them an email. I imagine I'll get a response tomorrow. If not, I'll call them and see what's up. It seems retarded that they switched it up. That would suck if I had to replace the tranny fluid with the MTG seeing as how I...

AMSOIL recommended oil is different now???

A few months ago, I changed out my transmission fluid and used AMSOIL MTF 75W80 which I got from their product lookup guide. At that time, the MTF was recommended by AMSOIL for both 2008 Evo models GSR(5 spd) and MR(6 spd). I went on AMSOIL's website and saw that now, the recommended oil for the...

    Transfer case change for evo

Someone clarified this for me on 2 evo forums. The bleed is done after changing the oil for the ACD. Which is not touched when you change out the transfer case oil.

    Transfer case change for evo

I read about it in the service manual. It wasn't in the maintenance section. It was in the manual transaxle/transfer case section. Supposedly it's to get all the air out of the oil. In my mind, it would be impossible to get all the air out without overfilling the xfer case.

    Transfer case change for evo

I changed out the oil in my transfer case on my evo the other day. I've driven it around a couple of days. In the maintenance section of the service manual, it didn't say anything about bleeding the xfer case. Do you really need to bleed the xfer case? There's going to be some amount of air in...

    AMSOIL MTF or MTG?

I heard other evo x owners are using the MTG instead of the MTF with good results. And that a thicker oil has added protection during aggressive driving. I don't granny drive so I thought I should use something geared more towards that. Oil Doc, the guy I talked to on evom.net, talked to...

    AMSOIL MTF or MTG?

Yep. He said all but 1 of his EVO X customers is running MTG with no problems. The 1 guy who isn't, drives like a granny and is using the MTF. I think MTG is the way to go.

    AMSOIL MTF or MTG?

I haven't noticed a significant difference in shifting. It's a little better. There's a dude on evom.net who goes by the name Oil Doc who I guess is a distributor for AMSOIL and he says that he recommends the MTG for ALL EVO's because of the way they're driven. If you drive like a granny, a...

    AMSOIL MTF or MTG?

I didn't realize how much a difference the viscosity makes when dealing with transmission oil. I just hope the thicker oil I have in there now didn't do any damage. I'm going to try to avoid driving a whole lot just in case. I'm crossing my fingers that the MTF 5W30 gets here this weekend.

    AMSOIL MTF or MTG?

I talked to a tech guy at AMSOIL and he said that the 75W90 is quite a bit thicker than the MTF 5W30. And if anything, it might make the transmission run hotter due to it being thicker. He also said that he wouldn't drive around with it in there. Apparently AMSOIL produces their product lookup...

    AMSOIL MTF or MTG?

I recently changed my transmission fluid in my 08 EVO X and instead of using OEM Mitsubishi NEW MULTIGEAR OIL (GL-3, 75W80), I used AMSOIL manual transaxle gear lube (MTG 75W90). The product recommendation from AMSOIL is to use their manual synchromesh transmission fluid (MTF 5W30). Am I okay...

    Best fluids for EVO X.

Thanks for the info guys. I've heard nothing but good things about AMSOIL and I like how they prove it with comparison tests to other oils on the market. I'm going to take back the DiaQueen OEM [censored] I got back to the dealership and place my order soon.

    Best fluids for EVO X.

I've heard bad things about synchromesh. Specifically on an evo forum I belong to (evowned.com). A guy on that forum that is very knowledgable about evo's uses all AMSOIL products. This is what he uses: # Engine * Oil - AMSOIL ATM 10W-30 * Filter - WIX 57092 # Transmission * Oil - AMSOIL MTG...

    Best fluids for EVO X.

I'm coming up soon on my 15K maintenance on my 08 EVO X and I'll be needing to change out the oil in my tranny, transfer case, and engine. I'm pretty dead set on sticking with Mobil 1 5W30 full synthetic for the engine oil, but I'd like some advice on what's best for the tranny and transfer...
