Skyactiv Engines have proven to be bulletproof

If they bring back the Mazdaspeed Miata, especially in the new coupe body style, and stick one of the turbocharged SkyActiv engines in it coupled with a 6MT, I'd strongly consider adding one to my garage too

Replaced All Signaling Bulbs At One Time

I know it's not for everyone, but HID and projector retrofits have gotten so cheap over the past few years that I think it is an option that should be given serious consideration. You get a big increase in usable light output, the bulbs last forever (OE bulbs from a '00 BMW still worked when I...

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Makes an Insane 760 Horsepower

I'd rather take a GT350R and a few sets of extra tires, and have some money left over. Then again, I'm a high revving NA kind of guy.

Byproduct of Ultra Low Profile Tires?

I think part of the problem is not just large wheels and the requisite low profile tires, it's large HEAVY wheels and low profile tires. The difference in ride quality (not to mention performance) between, for example, OE 26lb 19x9.5 wheels with 27lb 255/35R19 tires and aftermarket forged...

Which 5w30 for gen lll Coyote 5.0?

A buddy of mine is pushing 500rwhp on a built Coyote, and I believe he's running Redline 5W40 with no problems. This is with pretty regular track use, both road course and drag strip

New SHELL Vpower With Nitro +

Judging by your name and your signature, you seem to have a penchant for F/I (specifically turbo) cars, if you have never done so (I am guessing you have, though), fill up with VP/Torco 100/104/110UL and set your AccessPort/APR Tuner/whatever to the appropriate fuel map tune, and enjoy a...

Are K&N drop ins still bad at filtering?

Overkill, you should be familiar enough with the BMW world to know just how significant of gains can be had on the S54 with "more airflow" via the CSL dry carbon fiber manifold (I have a first production run OE on mine, 13-44rwhp and 8-41rwtq gains from 2k to 8.8krpm!)... I do only recommend...

combined tire threads by Ram Man

The Pilot A/S3's are also exceptional tires if you live in the narrow climate band where All Seasons are justifiable...

how do you best protect a car finish from UV rays?

You will get so many recommendations for paint care products that I will refrain from adding to the confusion, and instead say: 3M Crystalline UV-/Heat-Blocking Tint is absolutely AMAZING, it makes it possible to live with a black interior car in the summer time without hating life. The brown...

    Ethanol in 93 Octane?

There are a few stations around me, all Shell (one Sunoco where I get 100/104UL at a pump) with 93 and one with 94 Ethanol-free. My cars are all modified and running custom Dyno tunes, with maps selectable for 100/104/110 race gas but the base is for my standard 93/94 E-Free gasoline. 2...

Is an "All In One" or "Polish" stronger (by hand)

Always start with the lightest abrasive you can, and there ARE a few decent AIO's out there that I have used, going by memory I recommend, for hand application: Meguiars White Wax Meguiars Ultimate Polish/Compound depending on need (follow by wax and or sealant of choice) Griot's Garage...

combined tire threads by Ram Man

Michelin Pilot SuoerSports... They're so good, I bought a FWD car because they make the car unnaturally predictable/controllable for the layout (it's an R56 Mini Cooper S JCW that I'm making a fun car)... They are also the only tire (size 275/30R19 on 19x11.5" Ray's Volk TE37SL rear wheels)...

    Rheem or Whirlpool Water Heater

FWIW, I have been extremely impressed with my in-line/on-demand water heaters (I also have radiant heating, so easy plumbing), and I strongly recommend looking into that route.

Oil Light Flickering 2004 BMW 325i

As long as the light is yellow, and goes away within 60-90sec of driving, it's typical and the only thing that replacing the Oil Level Sender unit will do is cost you money that you are VASTLY better off spending elsewhere...

    2004 BMW 325i Engine Stumbling

Clean ICV (Idle Control Valve) and MAF, inspect DISA unit, replace all intake rubber arms (they Crack, but cheap to replace), clean TB, and replace CCV system with Cold Weather version. Secondary air pump is a possibility as well... That's a good start. Cam/crank pos sensors, etc too.

Are K&N drop ins still bad at filtering?

AFE ProDryS are in my experience the best, and I use them, both panel and cone, in every car I have from street to race/track. The fitment is absolutely perfect for every one I've used, and even with TRUE cold air intakes (filter in bumper a la the Dinan carbon fiber long tube CAI, but also...
