I bought a 2018 charger brand new and have had the oil changed by dealership ever since. I recently just happen to look at one of the receipts and noticed the oil was basically conventional by the part numbers. Car has 25k on it now. Would it be safe to switch to a blend or a full synthetic at...
I stopped by dealer and wanted to pick up some Amsoil for motor and they were recommending the 20w-50 . Nowhere in manual states that viscosity. What is the opinion of others. I prefer the 10w-30 full synthetic and just check the level often because multi-viscosity can get used on motors like these.
When using blended or synthetic oils, does the oil filter need to be different as far as inside material or does the same oil filter such as PF48 that is used on conventional used for the blended/synthetic oils out there.
I have an '07 Silverado that has a little bit of oil consumption caused by AFM. I am reluctant to have the issue corrected by GM so I was wondering if there is some oil that may help with the consumption. I have been using VWB 5w-30 since day one. Truck only has 40k. GM is aware of the oil...
Just purchased a new mower and the manual has oil recommendations but it stated that the motor could have oil consumption on the multi viscosity oils like 10w-30. Would it be best to use SAE 30 being the mowing temperatures are above 60 degrees most of the time.
Just bought a 2010 Traverse with 36k miles. Unsure of the type of oil that was used by the previous owner but what oil would be recommended. Debating to stick with the conventional 5w-30 or go to a blend.
Is there any preference between the two oils other than price per quart. Any performance factor I would sure like to know before I change to the Valvoline.
Does anyone see any problems switching from conventional to a blend at 16500 miles on '07 Silverado pickup? Oil change interval is around 3000 miles on the conventional. Truck only pulls a boat once in a while. I did not want there to cause a problen with seals or such if I switch. Any thoughts?
I was told from one of the dealerships around my area that after the switch to synthetic the vehicle should not go back to conventional due to the possibilities of engine leakage. He was not that specific where the leaks occurr. Any truth to that theory?
What can take real tiny paint spots off the finish of a vehicle? I can remove it with the touch of the nail but not by just rubbing. What can be used and not hurt the finish at all. I thought maybe one of those bug remover pads but I am not unsure.
has any one used other brands of oil for the use in ATV's other than Honda 10w-40 honda oil. That stuff is high. I have looked at the Valvoline but can not find it at a local store
I have been using 5w-30 Valvoline conventional for years and I was thinking about switching to Valvoline Durablend 5w-30 in my 2007 Silverado that has 11500 miles on it. I was just trying to get some different input on the switch. I know it meets all GM specs according to GM's latest revision...
