    Castrol Edge 5W30 SP/GF6 - 7,601 Miles - 2010 Subaru Impreza EJ253

i also had an EJ253 equipped '05 RS and ran everything from 0W30 to 5W30, to 0W40 to 5W40. that car saw everything from daily duty to tracking, autocrossing and rallycrossing. my numbers were about the same (including a headgasket replacement at 88k miles). you've got tons of miles to go...

    2021 4Runner Venture | 5W-30 HPL EURO NO VII | 7,000 miles on oil & 20,000 on truck

i think its a pretty uneventful looking report, seems most 4runner engines don't want to do anything but run. That said, I've been running M1 0W-40 in mine for years now and I think you'd be hard pressed to beat an oil of that thickness when its ~$25/jug down at the local wally world. here's my...

My brain hurts c5 Z06 oil

came here to suggest M1 0W-40 as well - sounds like it would be a perfect fit, you can find it at any walmart in the country, and the price is unbeatable. i use it in both my vehicles that are specced in the US for 20 and 30 weights but internationally for 40 weights, and its a great oil to beat...

    2005 Acura TSX with 272k miles - 9k interval - Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W30

i'd agree with Kevin that your results show something is wearing out of spec, period. how long it lasts is again, a bit up in the air BUT: clean, manual TSX's are thin on the ground. they're one of Honda's best late model products and the K24 is a gem in and of itself - both are worth saving...

2022 Mustang GT 5.0L Coyote, Mobil1 FS 0W40, 5500 miles on car, 2300 miles on oil, has infamous tick

OP - results look fine, a little high compared to most cars for less than 3k miles but this also fits in with the nature of a fresh engine that's still not fully broken in. give in another year or two (depending on how often you change oil) and i bet you'll see all the wear metals drop and level...

2022 Mustang GT 5.0L Coyote, Mobil1 FS 0W40, 5500 miles on car, 2300 miles on oil, has infamous tick

its quite common in these latest gen 5.0's, weirdly. a lot of speculation as to what causes it.

    2021 ram 1500 5.7 hemi; PP 5w-20 5k mi

Got it, not a ram owner but based on what I've heard from the 5.7 mds tales, thought It could be related.

    2021 ram 1500 5.7 hemi; PP 5w-20 5k mi

given how low other wear metals are, and how young the engine is, its definitely concerning. doesn't seem like a bottom end issue but rather something with steel on steel contact. from what i've heard, these hemis can have issues with cams and lifters (due to the MDS system) in which case the...

looks really good considering the idle time.

    Mobil1 0W-40 • 7,118mi • 2010 Civic Si 126k

i really do need to run it longer, i just have a natural alarm in my brain that really gets antsy after about a year. you're probably right its fine to run out to 10k or more.

    Mobil1 0W-40 • 7,118mi • 2010 Civic Si 126k

you're right, totally forgot. pretty sure this current run was "FS european car".

    Mobil1 0W-40 • 7,118mi • 2010 Civic Si 126k

another 40wt UOA. this car spent a lot of time sitting at about 80mph for hours this go around (3600 RPM), so oil use is up a bit, but K20's are known for that. AL is up a little but i don't think its much to be concerned about, but its nice to see no PB. sees the 8,200 RPM limiter nearly every...

How much extra viscosity does 5w40 buy you over 0w20 in the 250-290 degree range?

i think if you're tracking the car regularly, one of the first things to address is having an oil cooler installed along with a temp and pressure gauge. from there it might become a lot easier to document and manage your temps and then potentially go up multiple oil grades for added protection...

I’ve been using Mobil-1 0W40 in my 2004 BMW 330i. Quaker State 5W40? Maybe also in my old schools??

i'm in the exact same boat. went through my stash of M1 0W-40 for my K20 civic Si so I grabbed 2, 5qt jugs of the QS 5W-40 on sale for the same great price. for my application, if i see an ACEA A3/B4 or Porsche A40 cert on the back its good to go in my mind. so far i've recorded no real...

    Toyota 4.0L 1GR-FE w/224k, M1 w/6900 miles

i don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose for your driving habits, that old V6 just can't be bothered to do anything but run! some of those silicon levels were really high, was that after a gasket reseal job or something going on with the intake?

    01 Toyota MR2 Spyder 1.8 L 1ZZ-FE Mobil 1 high mileage 5w-30 full syn 1.2k mi OCI

love those cars, hardly see them anymore. it always amazed me how they built them as a spaceframe with panels bolted on, instead of the typical unibody! we used to have a local run in C-stock autox years back and they would carry their inside front wheel all over the course at max grip levels...

Kirkland FS 5w-30, 3000 hard miles, 2019 Honda Civic Type-R

for multiple track days on a timing chain engine that is still rather young and possibly breaking in, i'd say these results are fantastic on a cheap house brand oil, particularly iron. just my opinion, but i'd probably keep rolling with a 30wt on the street/mountains and then load up on an A40...
