Right hydro on zero turn weaker Maybe?

I never did change the fluid or filters on my ZT2800s. I didn't own my Cub Z-Force 44. long enough to. Sold the home at the time and the mower went with it. I'm all for quality aftermarket fluids and filters, but I don't see that as being your solution here. Sorry if I missed it, but...

Right hydro on zero turn weaker Maybe?

I can't tell much from the pic, but it looks OK to me. Could you try operating another identical machine to see if it behaves the same way? As much as I like to maintain my transmissions, hydraulic systems and gear boxes, doing a drain/fill at 5-10hrs seems too early. ZT-3200's must be the...

Water main and sewer line insurance through "the water company"

Some homeowner insurance policies will cover water and sewer lines up to a specific amount should you dare file a claim on it. A co-worker of mine pays for some type of 'Home Shield' coverage, where they replaced the water line to his rental property. It was quite the ordeal though. You have...

My experience with vehicles over the last 40 years

Best I can recall, I'm at 26 daily driver vehicles over the past 37yrs. 9 were purchased new. I can think of maybe 3 that I took slightly beyond 100K miles. Nothing really notable. I never had any type of major mechanical problem or breakdown. I've slowed way down on my quick...

    Tuff Torq K46 Fluid Change

Good work! Not that it looks horrible under there, but I see some dirt buildup. How did the cooling fins on the transaxle look? I've seen them so hopelessly clogged with debris that the cooling fan can't do it's job and you'll get overheating, loss of speed, etc.

Nissan VQ35DD 3.5L 29k kms; Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5.7k kms; - silver in used oil analysis

I would also consider Sounds like a wise plan. I would be inclined to use oils like Valvoline Restore and Protect or Mobil 1 Advanced Clean in it and continue running this type of oil. The 0w20 vs 5w30 thing, I dunno.. I tend to run 5w30 in my 0w20 spec'd engines because it makes me feel...

Do you replace a filter based on age instead of run time?

I'm in the same boat with my sub compact tractor. About 30hrs/year. I was planning on doing the engine oil/filter yearly regardless since the little Yanmar in it only holds two quarts, but maybe I'll leave the filter on there for 2-3. Haven't decided yet. I've been using the same filters...

    Providence (Rural King) 5w-30 conventional

They are great IMO. Unfortunately, the closest RK store for me is about 140 miles away. A few days back I ordered a replacement hydraulic filter from RK for my TYM T224 tractor, which is the same as the RK21. Even with the $6 shipping charge, it was less costly than ordering a filter...

Nissan VQ35DD 3.5L 29k kms; Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5.7k kms; - silver in used oil analysis

Is this a Pathfinder? What year? Regardless of what the used oil analysis says, I would not go beyond 5K mile OCIs with a VQ35DD.

Need HD mower or tractor recommendation for 20ac

You're right on JD putting effort into operator comfort and ergonomics. They've always been top of the game on that IMO. Kubota was generally pretty good about that as well. Some of the Simplicity GTs from back in the day were great too. Very comfortable to operate. I don't think you're...

The Current New Truck Market Is In Trouble

I wonder how close the average consumer would actually get to those prices at that particular dealer. Per that site, the least expensive you can buy is a $36140 silverado 1500 white work truck, 2wd, reg cab, short bed, 2.7 turbomax. I guess that's as good as it gets today. My brand new 1994...

Thoughts on the Silverado 2.7 turbo engine

Even with all the shortcomings we could dream up, given how most owners use their 1/2 ton pickups, the 2.7 turbomax is probably all the engine they'll ever need.

Thoughts on the Silverado 2.7 turbo engine

We have them as utility trucks at my plant. They are surprisingly powerful for a 4cyl in a full sized truck. We don't use them for towing as we have larger trucks for that. They're a bit more complicated of an engine, with the cam tower setup, the super narrow cam lobes for the cylinder...

Need HD mower or tractor recommendation for 20ac

What I meant to say above was a new one would be $10-12K more than what they were asking for that used 2018 model year. If you were to buy all those attachments new, along with the BH, that JD 1025 setup would have exceeded $30K easily. Backhoes are indeed an expensive add-on unless you...

2018 Equinox 1.5L turbo LYX vacuum pump

I just finished up installing a new GM replacement vac pump in my 2021 equinox LYX 1.5 today at ~77K miles. I took the factory unit apart. It had lots of swirl wear marks, but nothing that would catch your finger nail. The plastic apex seals and wiper bar (for lack of a better term) looked...

IH Cadet - greasable spindles for my 42" mower deck

I hear that. All I can figure is the grease might give the innards of the spindle a fighting chance against corrosion, helping the bearings to come out easier. Maybe a little bit of lubricant could wick itself into the sealed bearings as well. I dunno,

Under Hood Work Lights - What Do You Use?

Here's a pic of my Vevor light mentioned above. I like it! I just did a vacuum pump swap on my 2021 Equinox using it.
