    MC seems to work best

I've been changing the oil in my 2007 Tacoma 4.0 every 3-5k for the last few years using everything under the sun. So far, no issues at all with 95k on the clock. However, I have found oils that sound better in the engine than others. I'm running 5w30 QS HorsePower and so far, no ticking but...

    MaxLife for Bronco

Any thoughts on MaxLife 10w30 for my Bronco 5.8. I'm sporting 163,000 miles and no oil leaks so far. It's had everything in it but has been changed frequently.

    Just dropped PYB for Syn

I ran PYB 5w20 for two months during this cold snowy winter here in Maryland. I just dropped it after 5k and replaced it with QS HP Syn 5w30. Lets see how this oil holds up for 6K.

    Rotella T 5-40 Synthetic

I'm going to put RTS 5w-40 in my '95 Bronco tomorrow. Great oil at a great price.

    Opening racing day

So Harvick said he was running Pennzoil Platinum in his #29 Chevy during the Budweiser shootout. I doubt it but who knows. I love Pennzoil but C'mon man.

Ford Bronco w/ 302 V8 and High Miles

I run 10w30 MotorCraft in my 95 Eddie Bauer Bronco with 5.8 and a Motorcraft filter. She has 168K on her and no leaks at all.

Motorcraft 5w30 in 2005 Hyundai Elantra

No need to run synthetics right now. You're getting plenty of protection at 5K OCI's with Motorcraft or a Group II+ like Pennzoil yellow bottle. I've run both in my 2007 4.0 Tacoma and just turned 85K with no problems at all. You can get a 5qt. jug of the MC 5w20 for $11 or the Pennzoil for $12...

Who is running 5w30 in an engine spec'ed for 5w20?

My Tacoma is spec'd for 5w-30 and then back spec'd for 5w-20. I'm running a 5w-20 full syn right now due to the low temps and I'll run a 5w-30 full syn in Summer due to towing a boat. The Tacoma has 84K on it and no problems so far.

    Filter decisions... again

    Motorcraft would be my choice.

    Kendall GT1 Synthetic

I've been running Motorcraft Syn Blend 5w20 for the last 6 months with great results. I picked up some of the synthetic flavor today in 5w20 and plan on running it in my Tacoma for the cold winter months. Anyone running it now? I know it's the same as Motorcraft full syn made by Conoco Phillips...

    Post your latest oil change

2007 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L Motorcraft FL-400S Filter Motorcraft 5w20 I changed the oil before a trip to South Carolina putting a total of 1300 miles on the oil for the trip. The truck ran so smooth and quiet. If you have this truck, give this oil a try.

    Long trip towing a boat

I'll be moving down I95 pretty fast. The boat is 17' Carolina Skiff and the V6 doesn't have a problem pulling it. I was more concerned about running the truck for 10 hours on a thin 5w20.

    Long trip towing a boat

I'm heading to the beach and towing my boat. It's about 500 miles. I just put some Havoline 5w20 in the Tacoma which can take a 20 or 30 weight. I was worried about towing that far with such a thin 20 weight and went with GTX 5w30. Good move or not? It's a 10 hour trip.

    200-300K + on cheap dino?

SM Dino @ 3k = 300k I started using Havoline 5w20 because it's great oil. No need for anything else at 3k-5k oci's.

    Group 3 synthetics.

I love Castrol Syntech. It's been a great oil for my Tacoma. I've used Edge as well and love it but the Syntech 5w20 works excellent.

    Sidewall Pressure or Door Jam

So, I finally had the tires mounted. I asked for 50 psi in the 80 psi Max load tire and they put in 40 psit. I'm running 53 PSI all around and the ride is very nice. It was a bit "mushy" at 40 psi. I hope this isn't too low or too high. It's right in the middle. Any thoughts?

    Sidewall Pressure or Door Jam

I don't carry heavy loads at all. I tow my boat about a mile and that's about it. I need a good psi for highway driving for that tire.
