The outside air temp where I live can span -20 to +100 F. In a calendar year. My whole site stand by system , Generac, recommends 5/30. Is there a better recommendation or does the system manufacturer recommended oil make the best sense?

Tried Mbl1 5/30 and Mbl1 fltr in my 03 Yukon w/ 8.1 ltr. Engine sounded like a diesel on start/warm up.Switched to 5/40 Mbl1 T/SUV and AC fltr.Nowhere near the noise at cold start now.Mobil fltr also leaked severly, did not take chance on another one.

What do the experts say about using Mobils 20/50 V Twin Oil in stock Merc 6.2 Motor? Oil seems to have it all + highest vapor temp. When a oil company name a products for a specific app. but give a broad API rating does that mean it can be used outsde it stated purpose.Thanks

I was thinking of using M1 20/50 V twin MC oil in my Mercury 6.2. marine engine.The oil has the correct rating but is designated a motorcycle oil.It has the hightest vapoization temp rating and some HP powerboaters are talking about it.Are the API ratings really what counts? Thanks

I just got new truck w/8.1 GM v8. At 5000 miles I want to switch to a syn oil. Owners manual limits to 5w30 or 10w30,what the best oil for every day use and weekend boat tow,7000 lbs.Also whats best filer, Delco 454 standard. LILGUY
