    Older technology engines=different oil?

Yes, I would be asking about BMWs here. The audi's love GC if they're run hard, if not Kendall is fine. Thanks

    Older technology engines=different oil?

Here in CT we aren't the Yukon, but it gets plenty cold. Most days you can clearly see the advantages of a 0w at startup, either you have no oil pressure or its just pegged until you really get some heat it on a 10w. 0w can be thinned out to almost normal in under 10 minutes of running. Summer I...

    Older technology engines=different oil?

I feel that with all this new oil technology even an older sohc engine should reap the benefits. I see no need to run a 20w50 dino oil in a car just because it's what the 1985 owners manual says to. I do run oil like this, but only in things where I don't think the added cost is offset by the...

Rotated wheels, now I have an Irritating wobble.

a lot of times, you wont notice a out of balance/old tires if they're out back, because the rear suspension has no steering and is usually softer than the front, so then throwing them up front shows you how bad they are.. i'd just get a new pair for the front hmm.. if the wobble goes away when...

anyone have experience with the audi 7A?

well in reality, every oil is too thick at startup, unless ambient temps were around 200F.. so i want a 0w-xx or at least a 5w-xx.. and with all new seals, im not worried about that.. with 186k i want to be able to beat the [censored] out of it without worrying.. thanks for all the help though...

Is Audi A6 a VW Passat?

every mk5 rabbit ive seen, including my moms '06 and my friends '08 are built in germany, while it seems the jettas, or some are mexican.. befoer that "wolfsburg editions" were german cars, again.. or so i'm told.. the audi 80/90/4000/A4's are the cars that "are" passats.. but only b1, b2, and...

Losing control of rear end of RWD car in rain

e30's, like all semi-rear trailing arm bmws love to slide... the e30's a bit more tame than some the older e21 3 series and the 2002, even more so than the more powerful e24's and e28's.. but when BMW had those semi-rear trailing arms.. they were kinda designed with sliding in mind, thats how...

anyone have experience with the audi 7A?

i'm not sure about oil temps yet.. engine hasn't been in the car yet.. only thing i care about is the wear on my engine.. like i said, it will see 7000 rpm more than once, and i dont want an oil thats going to break down from the revs, thats why i was leaning more towards something thicker...

    Are VW's that bad!?

haha btdt with the SAAB's as well.. my mom drove a '97 9k Aero, which btw is secretly one of the fastest stock cars to ever hit the streets... and my dad had a '91 900s 4 door.. which is one of the slowest cars to ever hit the streets... both were pretty reliable, but man when something went...

i'm in the process of cleaning one out and regasketing the whole thing and was wondering if anyone had any experience pertaining to this engines preferences for oil.. mines got 186k on it and was seemingly taken well care of and ran fairly lightly its entire life.. the car will probably see 7k...

    Are VW's that bad!?

anyone who can hold a wrench can fix a VW.. its "foreign".. so like all other "foreign" cars.. if you bring it to the idiot down the street who has a lift and claims to be a shop, or the dealer who also hires idiots, then yes it will be expensive to fix.. i'm an audi guy, with some roots in old...
