    Backpacking trip in the Sierra

I'm sticking with my E-PL1 until it dies, or the right MFT body comes along with a global shutter.

Great use of the E-PL1. Heck, you ought to keep it and add a Panasonic 20mm for low light, and an Olympus 9-18mm for some wide angle work. That mileage would be a bit high for me in that kind of terrain. I like to take a little more time along the way. Sounds like you had a fun trip!

    Bendix TitaniuMetallic II Brake Pads

The scary thing is the majority of cars never have their brake fluid changed until they require major brake work. Most manufacturers recommend a 2-3 year interval, but I change my cars' fluid annually. It's so cheap and easy it seems silly not to, since an ABS modulator costs a whole lot more...

Joe, I know what you meant, and I should do it as much for my mental health as anything. After removing the Fram SureDrain valve, there was a small dribble of oil remaining, but I never noticed how small the actual drain hole is in the valve. While it may not cause much old oil to remain, the...

Drat, no Amsoil EAA for the Si. It might be time for a CAI.

Oh well, thanks for looking. Unless I get a CAI, I guess it's OE or Wix for my Si.

Pablo, do you have an Amsoil EAA air filter part number for the 2006 Honda Civic Si? I'm surprised to find very few options, and the Amsoil Online Application Guide just shows the Wix 49120.

Both UOAs have been run through MRT Laboratories, with the results interpreted by Terry Dyson. MRT's site doesn't specify closed or open cup, but IIRC, they use closed cup for Terry. The moly probably is from the M1, as I don't remember seeing any moly in RLI's VOAs. I think the next UOA will...

Porter Cable 7424 vs Ultimate Detailing Machine

ruralcarrier, I've ordered from Proper Auto Care for several years and always been happy. I'll bet they'd even pick up the phone and give you their honest opinion about any of these buffers.

benjamming, I was wondering about that. Thanks for not letting me cling to the tiniest shred of reasoning that might allow me to have regular, guilt-free runs to redline. DmanWho, the Si has an 11:1 compression ratio and needs 91 octane fuel. I haven't tried anything less, and wouldn't bother...

    NEWEST EAA's

Pablo, sorry about the quick edits! The more I started digging on the Wix site, I started to see what was probably going on. As long as Amsoil and Wix have the models sorted by their own respective part numbers, no worries.

It's hard to say what changes Honda made in the various iterations of the K20. DBW, fuel economy, and emissions are all possible reasons for fairly significant changes. No offense to other oils, but since one of RLI's strengths is its resistance to fuel dilution and shearing, I'm going to stick...

Porter Cable 7424 vs Ultimate Detailing Machine

I've owned a Porter Cable 7424 for several years and been very happy with it (never had it bog down, btw). That said, if I was buying a new polisher, I'd get either a Meguiars G-110 Dual-Action Machine Polisher or Flex XC3401VRG Dual-Action Polisher. I think the 7424 is the best value, but I'd...

Audi Junkie, other than needing to make a socket-on-a-stick, adjusting the valves was pretty easy. I forgot to mention, the only K20Z3 engines I know of to have had the valves adjusted (mine and the Temple of VTEC project car) had slightly loose valves. I'm not sure how B-series valves wear...
